WOW impressive... I'm looking forward to 997.2 TT and GT3 PDK numbers.

Makes me think a TT/GT2 PDK could hit 10s in the 1/4 mile...

My Japanese is a little rusty, so I couldn't discern much. What are the learnings from this video?

what I took out of it:

C2 vs C2S = 12.1 vs 11.7

C2S vs C4S = 12.051 vs 12.053
That was surprising, figured the weight of the AWD would have more of a penalty, but i guess not.

well i would've thought that the C4S would have a much better time. I would have thought that Porsche would have taken advantage of the AWD.

Eh, more weight and poorer weight transfer, vs better traction . . .

I don't know what those units are, but I do NOT think they're 1/4 mile times. 11.7 is HAMMERING for a street car on street tires. If that has EVER happened, it wasn't with a 3300lb 6cyl car with 385hp.

There are 1609 meters to a mile. 1/4 mile = 402.25m.

On a rear weight biassed car like the PDK C2S that can manage shifts in 100ths of a second, the 12.051 run is attainable but I agree that 11.7 is *very* fast considering the 520hp GT2 runs mid 11s.

yes thats what i am thinking, can the C2S PDK be a 11 sec car??

thats 997TT territory!!

so lets think... if the 997 C2S did in about 12,8 sec the 997.2 is 1,1 sec faster in the quarter! So when the turbo 997.2 arrives, it will at minimum down its time from 11,7 sec(thats aprox what a 997TT takes) to 11 flat or MAYBE be a 10 sec CAR!!!

what you guys think!?

With slicks on a drag strip: yup, they could both do it.

Street tires on a road/parking lot/runway? Nope.

Low 12s for C2S. TT unknown until new engine released. If the ONLY change is PDK, then no way. A few tenths at MOST.

Edmunds (not necessarily cruel and ruthless in their testing) managed 12.4 with a C2S Cab PDK:
"The Straight Scoop
Despite this car's hefty curb weight of 3,510 pounds, the presence of increased power plus the PDK's launch control (part of the $960 Sport Chrono Plus Package) and shift speed make the Cabriolet quicker than the much lighter 2007 911 Carrera S Coupe. The Cabriolet hits 60 mph in 4.2 seconds (3.9 seconds with 1 foot of rollout like on a drag strip) and charges through the quarter-mile in 12.4 seconds at 111.8 mph. This is fast."

awd cars are usually quicker in the 1/4.it's what 100lbs heavier? awd should negate that.

I don't think you can back that claim up, dude.

Can you cite a few examples of otherwise identical cars that are quicker in the 1/4 mile with AWD vs. RWD?

0-60 MAYBE. But YES, 100lb does make a difference.
