2005 997S 36k miles black/black, adaptive sport seats, bose, no nav, no chrono for $45k. No accidents, new tires.

Even though I haven't officially handed over the car, already having seller's regret. Could I have gotten more?

Are you replacing it something else? If not, you will truly regret it. Price seems ok though, as I've seen lower mileage go for about the same...do you have extended leather?

Hate to say this, but I think you did really well; for the past several years P cars just don't hold their "value" like they used to.

I agree with this...sadly Porsche's resale values are mirroring the majority of cars today. You got 50% of MSRP for a 5 year old car (maybe more since no sport chrono etc.) and this is pretty good compared to the overall car market where 50% depreciation off MSRP tends to hit at year 3-4.

Replace it with another one and it won't hurt as much to sell this one

When I sold my 996, the buyer flew in town.. I begged him to find something wrong so I could buy him a plane ticket back home.

Seller's regret always burns. Look on the bright side, anything you buy will be discounted too.

You did well . It sounds like you miss your car though. Maybe you ought to wait and save it but if the price is the only concern you are fine.

Yeah was hoping to try and save some money but I'm definitely going to be itching for something fun to drive soon. Seriously....where are going to find a car that is THAT fun to drive for 45k?! Ugh oh well. Always wanted to try audi for once so maybe I'll do that. Glad the deal I got isn't that bad....

Just wait 6-12 months and you'll likely be able to buy a newer lower mileage 997 for that much. I think you got a fair price in today's market.

Depends on how much you paid for it. I'd rather turn my 997 into a flower garden than sell it for 45k. I'd never buy a new car again....if I realized a 50% loss over the MSRP. Buy it, keep it, drive the wheels off. If you want something else but still like your car, keep it, and add another to the collction. This way, you never lose anything. Just my opinion.

My car is similarly ('05, 37k miles, bose, no chrono, no nav), and I've been told $45k is about right.

There is nothing on the road that I'd rather have than a 997, so I've gone from trading cars every 6-12 months to realizing that I'll have this one for a long time. And at a certain point, there's no value in selling it; I may have this when it becomes a classic and I can get those cool ANTIQUE plates for it. At that point, if I keep it as immaculate as I have thus far, it should begin to appreciate. But of course, by then, I'd have had it for 30 years and I'd never sell it. When I die, my son can have it.

Point is: no sense in selling it, since you won't get enough to get into anything nearly as fun, cool, or iconic. I'm holding on to mine. If I need/ want another car, I'll lease one, but I won't let go of this one.

i think it's too cheap IMHO. u can't get a nicely loaded 328i e93 for that much. So if u ask me that is cheap.... keep it. burn that 45k down to the ground...
