I had the stock turbo wheels on my 07 C2S...they were OK better than the Lobster Claws but nowhere near my favorite. However my wife actually liked them a lot. I never changed them because I knew I was only going to have the car for 9 months until my 09 C2S came in.

I like them more than the lobster claws too . Part of my indifference towards them is that even though they are strong and a respecatble stock wheel I find them hideous to look at . They have this Corvette type of wheel design that doesn't fit the 997tt (the intended car) .

I had mine on my car for one month . Here's a before/ after comparison.

Not a fair comparison since the photo with the Turbo rims is so much better......either that or the Turbos are really growing on me. ;-)

They may be indeed growing on you. I like them as well, and the so-called lobster wheels too. I like the Carrera S II (997.2S) rims too. It's interesting that notice that people who otherwise lust after new looks, are very conservative on wheels and prefer the classic, very radially symmetric, designs.

Sadly, I don't have the 997.2 wheel weights yet. Keep in mind that the weight differences between a forged wheel and a pressure cast wheel are not what they used to be. We used to compare a true forged wheel to a cast wheel, while today's pressure cast wheels are lighter than they used to be as merely cast wheels. Also keep in mind that much of the weight that you take issue with will be found to be in the tires themselves.

Here's the weights as I have been collecting them...

Porsche 997 Wheels

Porsche Factory Carrera S - 100 lbs, 0 oz.

8x19" 22 lbs. 4 oz.
11x19" 27 lbs. 12 oz.

Porsche Factory Carrera Classic - 104 lbs, 10 oz.

8x19" 23 lbs. 10 oz.
11x19" 28 lbs. 11 oz.

Porsche Factory Carrera Sport Design - 104 lbs, 12 oz.

8x19" 24 lbs. 3 oz.
11x19" 28 lbs. 3 oz.

Porsche Factory Carrera Sport - 106 lbs, 12 oz.

8.5x19" 24 lbs. 2 oz.
11.5x19" 29 lbs. 4 oz.

Forged Turbo Wheels - 102 lbs, 12 ozs.

8.5x19" 23 lbs. 8 oz
11x19" 27 lbs. 14 oz.

Porsche 997 GT3 - 110 lbs, 4 ozs.

8.5x19" 24 lbs. 5 oz.
12x19" 30 lbs. 13 oz.

8x19 (987, 997 non turbo front) 23.4 pounds
8.5x19 (997 turbo front) 23.9 pounds

9.5x19 (987 rear) 25 pounds
11x19 (997 turbo rear) 28.8 pounds

19x8.5 and 19x11 HRE Monoblocks (21#, 24#)

Carrera III Wheel Weights

8x18, 22.0 lbs
10x18, 24.9 lbs

Tire Weights:

Potenza RE050A 24/32
ContiSporrtContact 2 21/29
Pilot Sport PS2 22/28
P Zero Rosso 22/28
Advan Sport 24/30

Wow, great information here. Does anyone have any idea about the weight of my wheels? I have 20x11" Rinspeed C5's with 325 Pirelli P Zeros.
I'm actually thinking about trading with someone back to 19's.

RazTT is an unknown quantity at this point
Thumbs up Lightweight forged wheels

Found these pictures of these really lightweight forged wheels on RL 997 Turbo tread.

They're called the RTT Track Spec-5 from what I see in the picture

Also searched for the weight of the Rinspeed 20x11 C5, and found nothing. Mine was 26,7 kg with as new 305/25-20 Continental 5P tires.
Yes I know it is a very old thread, but just providing some info if someone else seeking the same info

I went from GT3 wheels to C90 HRE, after 20 a miles cruise has not noticed the difference of the lighter wheels...i hope that it will though.
