Carrera Sport wheels + spacers on a C2S?

I purchased a set of spacers for my C2S (7mm front, 15mm rear with longer bolts) - this was to be used on the stock lobster fork wheels.

I finally found a set of Carrera Sport wheels last week (woot!) that I'll be mounting in the coming week, and I see that the offset is 67 in the rear.

My question is : will the Carrera Sport wheels even require spacers in the rear on the narrowbody C2S to be flush? If I use the 17mm spacer will it push the sidewall out past flush?

I'm assuming that I can use the 7mm front spacer as intended.

At the end of the day, I purchased the spacers for the lobster fork wheels as I know they will work just fine with those offsets, but this was before I found the wheels I wanted. I just want to see if I can use them on the Carrera Sports as well, or if I even need them for the rear. I know they are required for the C4, just can't find much info on the C2 with this wheel + spacers.

Thanks!

305's on a 11.5" wheel and 15mm spacers might push the wheel outside the fender....try one out and let us know...it's a simple install.

I have 67 offset sport design with 15 mm spacers. An additional 2mm will not hurt.

Shoulda' mentioned - wheels are here, tires are still on order. I'll use a 15mm spacer on one side and leave the other side off for pictures when I have everything in hand.

Agreed that 2mm shouldn't really matter that much.

IIRC, the Lobster's for the C2 and the Carerra Sports have the same rear offset - 67mm. Porsche makes a different Lobster for the C4 with the widebody offset but does not make one for the Carrera Sport and that's why Porsche uses the 17mm on the C4 with the Carerra Sport. So if the offsets are the same (check the rim on either side of the valve stem - widths and offsets stamped there) 15mm and 17mm should be OK - however the spacers will push the wheel out by that amount. But it sounds like you're OK with the extension.

What kind of tires are you getting ? You must be excited for the new setup....

Keep in mind the Sport Design and Lobster rims others have mentioned are 11inch in the rear. Your Carrera Sports are 11.5inch. This half an inch additional width needs to be factored in. A 15mm spacer will definitely extend the rim beyond the fender lip. I don't think you will be happy with the look.

Attached are pics of mine with 305 Bridgestone RE050A and an OEM 5mm spacer. It's near perfectly flush to the lip.

The 5mm Spacer seems quite right on yours

Wow hattrick - 5mm does indeed look almost perfect. Might have a set of 15mm H&R spacers + bolts here for sale soon...

Thanks for the pictures. I believe I'll be looking for a 5mm kit now for the rear.

Throw the 7mm spacers you have on the rear first and leave the fronts alone. See how you like that look before spending more $$ on the OEM 5mm---they're pricey.

Good Luck !

Just to clarify, the 19x10 and 19x11.5 will fit a C2S without spacers, and possibly adding a few MM will make the fit even better, depending upon tires chosen?

Thanks!

Don't forget you have to have the correct offset.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what's the optimal rear spacer for carrera classics on my C2S? I guess it'd make sense to leave the fronts alone though...

"Optimal" is more an issue of how you want the wheel to fill out the wheel well. Porsche sells 5mm (about this wide __) and probably won't give you the look you want. I believe folks have used up to 15mm. With either 5mm or 15mm you'll need longer lug bolts too.

Also, it appears that 10" is too wide for the front of a C2S? I'm seeing 8.5 mentioned over and over for the front...on a C2S in this partocular wheel, no?
