Check engine light & !

I have a 2006 997 S with 8400 miles. my check engine light came on then a red !. I did the muffler bypass a few months ago and all was going well till this point. i opened the engin comp. and found my oil fill cap had poped off and was sitting next to my intake filter. put it back on and started my car then i thought that the engine felt off balance but this could be in my head . still the check engine and !. any help would be great

It is likely that the CEL is due to the air flow from the first O2 sensor to the second one is moving faster then what the cars computer will allow in it's program.

FVD sells some O2 sensor extensions that will help with that problem.

Why not take it to the dealer and have them take a quick look before restoring the stock exhaust? It might have been caused by the loose oil cap and the exhaust is a red herring. And the fact that it fell off is very disconcerting. And I would change the oil asap.

The only thing the dealer can say about the muffler hack is you no longer have a wrnte on the mufflers. My dealer said mufflers are one of the few things porsche will overlook.
