Help with Ideas

Hey guys, I was looking for some input as to some mods to do on my 05 C2S. I just dont want to go crazy with mods, because I plan on going after a CPO 997.2 in a few years but in the meantime looking for some refreshing mods.

I currently have a Fabspeed CAI and BMC Filter and im very happy w these mods so Im not looking for anything else speed wise, more of cosmetic. I def want 20" Rims hoping some on here help me w a set of used Techart or Rinspeed .

So basically I saw a Techart Front Spoiler Lip for 1300 then went on Suncoast and saw a whole bumper for that. Are there any cheaper lips out there. Sideskirts I would like to do what would be my options for these. Last which I def want to do is lowering springs. Just trying not to spend crazy money. Want to see what u guys think. TIA guys

Also a pic of my car after I washed it 2day nothing special

I have done a lot of mods to my pcars in the past - if you don't mind losing your money on the mods when you sell or trade the car in than go for it. what most of us here do to our cars fits our needs at the time, but may not be tailored for the next owner. For example - I have added PSE, painted my wheels matte black, carbon fiber pulls and door lids, ruf shift ****, ruf peddles, bme filter, ceramic coated my exhaust tips (upgraded my wheels to the 19" classics from 18"s) to name a few...I have done all this in the last 9 months (around $5K later) - I am now in the market for an 07' GT3 and my mods are worthless to the next owner......So my point is: do what makes you happy, but don't freak out wen you want to trade or sell for that 997.2 later and gt nothing for your mods. OTOH, you can always try to sell your mods and go back to stock before selling like a lot of people do.

+1. As you can see from my signature, I've now done quite a few mods to my car. I really appreciate the improvements but I have no misconception that they will yield anything in return when I sell the car. OTOH, I tend to be a long-term owner, and have no intention of trading cars for many years. I suspect that if I thought, as the OP does, that there was a finite and limited planned period of ownership, I wouldn't have done much to the car.
But a really good car becomes a long-term friend for me. I owned my VW Scirocco S for 11 years, a Saab 900 for 13 years, and this 997S is far better than those that came before it. I guess I'm just bad for the economy...

I've got a few mods on my car as well and as other's have stated, I don't plan on getting back more than ten to twenty-five cents on the dollar when it comes time to sell. However, I plan on keeping my car for 5 plus years and that's long enough for me to spend the money on the mods to enjoy them.

Just my two cents but adding side skirts without modifying the front bumper (and maybe the rear) won't make the car look balanced. Front bumper with no side skirts is ok, but not skirts without doing something to the front.

In my case, the GT3 front will set you back about $3k painted and installed. My rear Rinspeed was about $4k. TechArt skirts about $1,500. My car is lowered with TechArt springs and that is about $1,200 (don't forget you need to have an alignment done after the drop). HRE P40's are $5k but Dan at VividRacing.com can get you a good credit on your OEM wheels. Red seatbelts about $800. Plenum is about $1k.

Hope this helps with some of your thought process.

If you're diligent in your search you can find an Aerokit front bumper for around a grand. Had mine painted for $250 and installed it myself. IMO, it changes the entire look of the car. Very aggressive.

Don't rule out the X51 headers either. Again, relatively easy DIY and a throatier tone on throttle. For $600-$700 you can't beat it.

How about a painted rear center console for the interior ? Bumperplugs.com has an excellent core exchange program.

As others have mentioned, you'll never get "dollar for dollar" mod money back on resale but OEM upgrades will always offer an "unmolested" view on trade or private sale from the dealer or buyer.

Alot of people DO NOT like the 20's but I am one who does and wouldn't have done with anything smaller.I do,however,do not track my car but rather just enjoy driving it around town.
Just make sure you have GOOD roads in your area because the 20's have very little in the way of rim protection,LOL!

As far as the Techart body kit.....YES it is alot of money but it fits great!
I had bought the Techart stuff(and still have a rear diffuser in storage somewhere here!) and was very pleased with the fitment but it wasn't the look I was shooting for!
So I ended up building my own sideskirts and rear spats!
Doing sideskirts only will make your car look unbalanced,IMO.
Visually you need the whole package.Whichever one you choose...I am sure it will look great!

I def like the aero front bumper and 1k for that is not bad. But like you guys are saying if you get one you have to get the other. So bumper and side skirts go hand and hand. Who else makes side skirts for our cars??

I believe Rinspeed makes a nice set.
