Hi!
Just got myself a 2006 997S with the sport chrono package and manual gear box. I love it!
What are the "most do" mods that I should start with? I am after slightly more power and reduced lap times on track.
What is the best "bang for the buck" cold air intake?

For best bang for the buck, I have read to:
Stay with stock mufflers
Stay with stock airbox
Go with X51 headers
Go with AWE 200cell cats
Order Softronics ECU flash
And eventually get a lightweight flywheel....
Hope that sums it up for you!
Enjoy the new ride...

Best bang for the buck intake is Evoms mated with software and a sport exhaust of your choice . Listen to a few , check a few prices , and see what works .
Add to that Bilstein Damptronics and you wil notice a great improvement.

I'm also getting the bug for mods and have been doing a lot of research. From what I can tell the biggest bang for the buck is a GT3 throttle body mated to an IPD Plenum and 200 cell cats. Anyone have this setup?

Thanks for great response!!
@Matt, would you do it in the mention order?
Are the cold air intakes like Fabspeed and the EVO V-Flow claiming + 10-12 HP just fraud? Any experience with this products?

I track mine a lot, and have Bilstein Damptronics, H&R Sway bars, AWE Cats, LWFW, and LSD (plus a few other things) and the best thing that I have done is gone to the track and learned how to drive it.
do any of those mods affect a CPO warranty?
My plan is to get a little hp/drivability bump while maintaining the stock factory look and still be able to easily change back to fully stock should I decide to sell the car one day.
Going to the track is great fun, but its not an excuse to not mod the car if thats what you want. I say do both!
As far as the intakes....the Porsche OEM airbox is pretty darn good. I would advise against going to a CAI unless you just have to hear that sound they make. Especially in Houston, you want to make sure the intake isnt drawing in hot air from the engine bay when its already 100 degrees outside. You can be sure this isnt happening if you stick with the OEM airbox. The fabspeed intake also retains the stock airbox but IMO its a little steep to pay that much for a red hose and an oiled filter.
Good luck!
Matt - Can we meet sometime? I'd like to hear your upgrades.
Sure, we can meet anytime but I havent installed these mods yet. I have been reading, searching, and researching for weeks through many post and have come to these conclusions. I hope the info is helpful, but my actual experience in these mods is zero.
