PDK & 2 feet in if you spin

The first thing you learn at the track (if you didn't know it already) is two feet in if you spin. (That being the brake and the clutch.) The idea is that the clutch and brake will keep the car from shooting off in some random direction when you come out of the spin and the engine will still be running so you can hopefully get the __ out of the way before someone else runs into you if you are still on the track.

How does this play out with PDK? If you start to spin, I dont' suppose that you will be reaching for the center shift handle and looking for neutral.

Any thoughts?

The tranny will move to neutral pretty quickly I would think. Moving the shifter from D to N is just a bump forward (no need to push the top lever).

Theoretically, the PDK should act like an automatic in that case. The transmission should treat it the same was as an abrupt stop. The engine should stay running.

i would say it would downshift cause the low rev's and u could then have the best gear already selected should you want to escape.

Agree -- like a highly sophisticated variation of an automatic . I have yet to drive the car in auto sport plus mode but understnad that the car was tested extensively on the track in that mode for all types of driving situtations . Many drivers opt for using manual mode but auto sport plus with driver ovveride seems like all bases are covered under hard driving .
