Beware of this 997 - possible flood vehicle

I just found this on cars.com

2007 Porsche 911S w/ Nav - 11K miles - $39,900.

http://tinyurl.com/mkm9yy

Beware as it looks like these guys are selling a salvaged/water damaged vehicle. It's listed as 'Export Only' on their website. A search of the VIN shows some links to an Insurance Auto auctions - flood cars.

Buyer beware... if it looks too good it probably is.

The search continues...

I thought it was required when advertising a vehicle in the US to state when a vehicle listed for sale has salvage title. Perhaps by stating "for export only" that rule doesn't apply?

Titles can be "washed". It is my understanding that, depending on the specific state's DMV, re-registering a car from one state to another state can effectively "wash" the title i.e. remove the "salvage" designation on the title.

Wow, that's really scary.... If you can't trust the title - yikes! I guess a PPI and thorough going over will show something, at least I would hope so.
