DME report-now what?
Hey guys. I just received the DME report on the car I'm thinking about buying. It is an 07 997S with under 4,000 miles. Im looking at the number of ignitions at speed at it registers a 0 at all stages 1-6. Is this possible? Misfire detection adaptation Range 0 (3) Range 1 (6) Range 2 (7). How can I be sure that this DME is the actual report to the car I'm thinking about buying? Opinions needed. Thanks.
the complete report will have the car's VIN, engine ID, and a bunch of other ID's printed on the same page as the actual over-rev readouts. That's how you can tell if it's the same vehicle you're buying.
0 over-revs is rare, but certainly possible.

It is read-only so the #s can't be fudged, unless someone put in a new DME module in there. You can compare the Operating Hours to the mileage of the car and see if they line up as well.
It is an interesting question - as number can be increased it is obviously not a read-only data, so it can be overwritten. And what can be over-written can be essentially erased. I wonder if ECU flash can erase that.

Is this car a manual or automatic?
An 07 997S with under 4,000 miles was basically never driven. Anyone who drove a car that little probably maybe didn't get around to hitting the rev limiter.

It is a manual. This car is a x51 with it looks like it has an aftermarket exhaust. It also has an aftermarket spoiler (rear). It doesn't make sense to put that much money into performance and not use it. I spoke to the tech who performed the DME and he said the car comes up clean. He said however he would not release the whole report to me just the page with the DMe inflormation. He said Porsche does not want the pubic to have sensitive information that is proprietery contained within the report.

And, naturally, nothing sensitive at all.
Yes I am dealing with a Ferrari dealership in New York, I'm in Portland Oregon. I don't know if they are reputable.
I am almost at the point of thinking that the whole deal is just smoke and mirrors. If it's too good to be true maybe it is.
