Make sure you press the throttle all the way down past the kick down button.

This is all in the owners manual.

****ATTENTION**** on the 997.2 cars Launch Control is ONLY FOR PDK CARS WITH SPORT CHRONO PLUS.

This DOES NOT apply to 6speed manuals.

If you try it, keep in mind your accelerator must be floored and activating the kick-down detent button under the pedal. If you have done everything correctly then "Launch Control Active" illuminates in the gauge display as the engine sings its intoxicating song of joy.

Then sidestep the brake and revel in the pleasures of engineering excellence!

Seeing as how everything is a preprogramed computerized system, is it possible that the car adjusts power to prevent any slip instead of simply adjusting how fast the clutch lets out?

If engine is almost at redline - unlikely you can do much to adjust anything - you just hit your tranny with 300+ horses directly one way or another.

Leave it On.

The article in the car magazine was wrong when they said to turn PSM off.

In any case... a 911 is not a dragster. To each his own.
Lets not jump to conclusions. I was talking "in theory"...

Interesting question... I would think it is more likely a clutch slip but in theory I guess it would be possible that engine power is controlled during the launch to reduce damage...

I would be interested in reading more about this if anybody has more info. I don't have a PDK car, I don't drag race, just curious about mechanical\electronic stuff..

That's how I do it! I've done it 5 times or so and loved it, need to have enough road so that you can shift through the gears.... The wife couldn't stop giggling!
