URGENT - Battery mantainer

My car has 2000 miles, it's year 2009

Yesterday I got my Porsche battery mantainer, plugged into the cigarrette lighter connection and let it there all night

To my surprise, now after 10 hours, the red light is still on, which means it's still charging...

Is this "normal" ?

My car was for about 6 months at the dealer, I drive it once a week, but never have had any issues when starting. Seems the battery is fine, but why so long and the mantainer is still working ?

Yes this is normal, if you use it more regularly it will charge for less time. It also kicks on and off as the battery still has things that draw from it when it is off.

Agreed. You either just caught it when it had kicked back on or it was low to begin with and was still charging. Either way, completely normal and it will actually be more rare to see it stay at a full charge all the time. No worries.

Simply opening the door will cause mine to go to charging mode (red light).

What type of battery charger / maintainer is recommended for winter storage? I thought trickle chargers hooked up to the battery itself? Is this thread about a charger that charges through the cigarette lighter to maintain the battery?

Thanks!

when leaving the car in storage for say a month and using the battery maintainer, does it matter if the alarm is activated or not?
