buttons...

as you may know, the buttons on the pcm and center console have a tendency to wear... meaning the black paint is wearing off... does anybody know if just the buttons can be replaced? i was told you need to replace the entire face of the center console...

if this is the case, does anybody know how much a front console would run?

Can the button finish wear be caused by skin fluids, such as lotions, sunscreen, etc.?

There's an aftermarket opportunity. Black anodized aluminum buttons for the PCM with engraved letters (through of course, to facilitate the back lighting of the letters).

Unfortunately the buttons are not separate parts that you can order. You would need to replace the entire PCM/HVAC control unit.

I had a similar issue with my PCM.

If your car is still under warranty, try your dealership. They may replace it through the warranty.

mine had the same issue and were replaced under warranty. It must be a common problem, they had seen this before and made it right.

We can order the PCM *****. As for the buttons it looks like the entire unit needs to be replaced.

PM me if you guys have any questions.
