Even worse --wait till the next PDK evolution step places this one as dated technology .. just as those buttons . I am noticing things with time which I like and some which I think have a lot of room for improvement. The paddles are just a small spec . At least it can be corrected easily . The bigger snags (like normal auto and the agressive sport auto downshift) have got to be smoothed out . I think it will come in time.
You can have paddles on the turbo for more money as they are available only as an option. I would think that the same option will trickle down to the Carreras when the 991 is released. Nothing for 2010 yet from what my dealer tells me.

The 'puddles' are available also as an option on the Carrera/Carrera S starting Feb 2010 - same identical awful-looking steering wheel. The std steering wheel with dual/redundant PDK buttons are the default across the line, including the 2010 Turbo.

Time will tell... but I bet the true P-car faithful will come to appreciate the std steering wheel. After all they do not fit the common grain, they drive the only current car with the engine hanging out back, whereas the herd drives something else.

dose anyone like to use the gear shifter? I personsal like it better to use shifter up and down to shift in manual mode. I do have paddles on my Audi, I feel shifter is pretty fun.

Sometimes grab it out of old habit - and some times my shift timing is better for the same reason. And some days I just like to use it for a change of pace or nostalgia.

Larry, those bugs have been worked out, mine is a 2010 build and downshifts are as smooth as you can have, just perfect.

The steering wheels are different . I think Techart has a PDK steering wheel . I imagine the paddles may fit the new wheel. I believe the wheel only comes in black but am not certain. They are site sponsors ----->

I did find this . http://www.techart.de/en/techart-wor...ng-wheels.html
