997.2 air inlet grille

Is the air inlet grill below the front headlights an easy swap out. Have a black car and the air inlet grille in Aluminum-look will give a good contrast. Seems you have easy access thru the front dam in the bumper. Anybody know if it is an easy swap? Thanks

I'm having mine done at the moment, I'm getting my car in 5 days, after a complete cleanup, wax and paint protection, black mesh grill for the front, complete dark tints for the windows, a clear bra for the front against stones and an overall mechanical check Meanwhile, yes mesh grill is a great idea whether its contrasting color or not, its definitely a must.

Question, where did you get the mesh grill from ? and is it applicable to the 2009 997 ?

thanks in advance

The mesh grill is being made by my local guy, and my car is a 2007, I asked him whether just handing him the front bumper to work on, he said when the plastic bumper is held on the floor, it changes its shape so he cant get the grill in, and I'm letting him keep the car for a few days besides the other adds from Porsche. I think you can find a good local guy to work on your 2009 for not so much money, its not a difficult job and its worth it.

i have a black 997.2 and swapped out the grill for the aluminium grills. They look great. Unfortunately you have to take off the front bumper. I had my dealer do it and it wasn't cheap. It does however look very good. I was worried after buying the grills and all the labour it wouldn't be worth it. But after it was finished I felt it was.
