Just Purchased My First 997

Hey everyone just got my first 997 pics below

http://photos2.ebizautos.com/946/4536480/4536480_1.jpg

http://photos2.ebizautos.com/946/4536480/4536480_4.jpg

http://photos2.ebizautos.com/946/4536480/4536480_7.jpg

just have some basic questions plan to do a lot of work to it, some of the mods i plan on doing are as follows

Fab Speed Muffler Bypass Pipes
Lowering Springs
20'' Essen Iforged Rims
K&N Intake
Short Shifter
GT3 Front Bumper and Wing

Are the intake and the bypass pipes good choices and those respective companies?

Thanks everyone excited to be here

Congrats! and welcome to 6speed! You will get many differing answers concerning specific mods. that are available, but the majority (like Fabspeed) are reputable companies.

Enjoy the car and the forum!

Thought those wheels were only for 997.2 base. Must have been takeoff's from
another car? Color combo is nice.

Rear of the car says Carrera. Those are the standard 18's that come on Carrera's. Same as I got - I like them - a little resemblance to the previous GT3 wheels, but with narrower dual spokes.

Nice interior - Terracotta right (or strange camera white balance ) ?

Will be a big ride quality difference between the 18's you have and 20's. You might want to drive it a while before you make the change.

You might want to see how notchy your tranny is before you add the short shift kit. It will make a notchy tranny even worse and the standard shift has a pretty short throw.

Also check out the EVOMS intake. Fabspeed is also developing a new carbon intake that will come out soon. Might be better choices than the K&N.

Enjoy!

Strange, it must be some cultural thing I have missed altogether - why folks jump on those 20" rims? They look completely oversized for 997 body.
Matter of choice perhaps, who knows.

Congrats on the car . The wheels are 997.2 OEM . The cheapest mod you can do is to replace the amber side markers with clear ones . As for yoir wheel and mod selection it's really a very personal choice. Love the color !!!
