All Season Tires for a C2
All Season Tires for a C2
Just checking to see if anyone has experience with a set of all season tires on their C2. Specifically, I am looking at the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS. I am looking for a good all around tire for daily driving.
I guess my point is that my 997 is my daily driver. I don't see the point in owning a Porsche and not driving it everyday.
Needless to say, when I purchase my GT3 one day, it will not have all season tires on it

Exactly. Summer tire and Winter tires (f you need them).
I'm running the 960's. Check my tire tread width comparison shots. They have soft sidewalls of an all season tire, so they should be pretty good in freezing temps. They howl like heck at 40 mph, and because of the soft sidewalls, they handle like crap. Also, a lot less traction than the RE050A's in the dry. BUT, I did notice that the RE050's almost had no traction at all in the wet when it was 40 deg. It was like driving on ice. I expect the 960's will do a better job as it gets colder and the sidewalls may even firm up, improving the handling a bit. They are pretty quiet and comfortable at highway speeds, which is a bonus. At TireRack, there aren't any other alternatives in the S 19" sizes. My roads are always cleared very well and I don't have any backroads to my house, so I really don't need a full snow tire and I'm also using it as a DD so I hope these will work for the winter.

RyeM3, thanks for the detailed write-up. I bounce around between NC and DC and with the winter months coming in, I think these will be a good alternative to the RE950s I am currently running.
