Picture request: Meteor grey vs GT Silver

Guys,

I can't decide which color I will be happiest with for the '10 Turbo that I'm going to buy. Right now my color selection is down to White, Meteor Grey or GT Silver/Arctic Silver with the red leather interior. Unfortunately I have not seen any of those colors at the same time/location so that I could compare, and I have never seen GT silver at all in person.

So now I'm turning to the forum for help. Anyone have side by side (preferably Hi-Res) pictures of Meteor Grey vs GT Silver vs Arctic Silver?

Salespersons all say that GT Silver is dramatically different than the Arctic and that it really captures the lines of the car. However, I can't really tell any appreciable difference between the samples on the color board at the dealership.

Thanks in advance!

-RR

I think you would have to see them in person. I have Artic Silver and it is fine but the next one will be GT Silver.

I look at GT silver as A/S with more Black added in. Very rich very good looking IMO.

I found a picture of a 997TT cab in Meteor Grey with red leather interior, but it's not a comparison. The grey is quite different from the other colors, and I have to say my favorite as I think it shows off a deep wax shine better than the lighter colors.

My 2 cents.

Meteor is darker (and warmer slight to brown) gray than GT Silver (which is cooler - slight to the blue). Arctic is very light.

If you could find a photo of all three/four together or view them in the same situation of course is ideal.

Separate images are difficult since all these colors will very easily shift color and tone based on lighting and surroundings.

All very subjective and all look good, personally I'd do Meteor Gray or GT Silver.

I know it's hard to tell from pics, but here's a GT Silver/Cocoa Turbo at my local dealer.

Here's another...I forgot that they also have a 2009 C4S Cabrio in GT Silver. I opted for a brand-new 2009 in Arctic Silver from the other local dealer last month, but this color is gorgeous.

I would go Meteor Grey. That was my next choice after Aqua Blue. I am actually not a fan of GT Silver. My local dealer had both Arctic Silver and GT Silver, and personally I am not a fan of either one.

But I would make sure you see them in person because all these colors are really tough to really decipher on the Porsche website, or in a photograph.

Thanks for the links but honestly I still can't see the difference. I guess I'll have to wait to see one locally unless/until someone posts up side-by-side pictures.

Maybe I should just take a different approach and consider yellow or aqua blue. Hmmm....

Yep I agree with you. Really love the aqua blue it's just that I've had my heart set on a Porsche with a red interior for years and my current choices (silver, grey and white) are the only ones - other than black - that I think coordinate well with that interior choice.

There was a woman who posted from Norway when she got her Gt silver car. The photo in this first post shows how great the car looks in the sunlight as it sits right next to an actic silver Cayenne . It shows the difference in color . I think the Gt silver is awesome --makes the car look like a spaceship.

Thanks. From that picture I can see what dndodds was referring to about the GT silver having a somewhat black hue to it.

There is yet another shade of silver .. less commonly known as it was popular in the mid 1990's . I had a Turbo in Polar Silver . It has a blue ish hue to it and is beautiful . Did a search for a good picture showing the color . http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...-c2-coupe.html
