anyone thinking of swapping their 997 for an Evora
anyone thinking of swapping their 997 for an Evora
Granted the 997 is faster and does not use a Toyota motor, but something about the lines of the Evora I find seductive, especially in that sea green color. In addition, here in Miami there is a 997 on every street corner and I would venture to say Evora's will be far and few between. I want to drive one. I will report back!
Yeah, I've pondered it, but I think it might be insane to buy a first year product from a company like Lotus. I can't even begin to fathom all of the bugs!! Some of the reports from europe have compared it to the cayman and it was a verified contender, but lacked all of the polish that makes a car worth that kind of money.
After a year or two, we will know the story and they may come out with a supercharged toyota 3.5L, Like in their Suvs. Can't wait for that!!
Also, there is a waiting list at most dealers for them right now....

Nope I wouldn't . In fact I did consider other cars to compliment my Turbo when I bought my 997S . I did not find anything which compared to the 997S PDK for the price and that even includes the Gt3 which is the car I wanted (but refuse to pay near MSRP for when weighed agaist a 20 percent discount). I did buy an M3 . I considered a Gtr . I even considered a Ferrari but think it is an overpriced and a quirky car which lacks the comfort and repair ease of a Porsche and depreciates faster than a falling rock with miles.
The 997S is the best car for the buck .It's fast , comfortable, reliable, and great to drive and after the novelty eroded in another car I believe that you may miss your car.
If you want something different buy a Turbo modify it, and customize the exterior aerokit and center the car's focus around its pure high Hp monstrous ability --It would be exclusive because I have yet to see another car like mine in this "dime a dozen" Porsche land (as you refer).

I thought of other cars - A8, GTR, Lotus, Maserati etc., but nothing compares to the 911. The others may be more "exclusive" (read - you see less of them), may arguably be prettier or have more gadgets - but all around the 997.2 is the better car. For me it came down to that vs. how many other people have one. Plus I agree with someone else who said that something new may be a novelty for a year - but you may ultimately miss the 997.2. GL.
