Hey, thanks for the tip. Just bought one. $299 including shipping is fantastic for new-in-box from a Porsche dealer.

Hit the view relisted item. They still have it for sale if you want one. If you have a notchy gearbox, be warned that the 1-2 shift will be much notchier with the SSK. Enjoy!

Ok guys we might have a HAM & EGGER here. I just got back from getting my SO CALLED SSk installed. As im cashing out my mechanic says "This SSK insnt much different than the REG 1 you had in"...he put my B&M in my 996 which was a HUGE diiference from stock. So I say well it isnt the B&M from before. He says well go try it. I get in and it does feel like a reg shifter. I look at the part number on my kit he took out and its the same as on the box I got the SSK in. But the SSK number on Suncoast website for a OEM SSK is the same as all these numbers. Am I going crazy, does the OEM SSK feel like a B&M becuz there was no question the throws were shorter.

I dont know. The shifts do feel a little different more precise. And looking at what some have said here Porsche says reduce by 20% which isnt like what B&M says at 35 40% reduced throws. Im judging because I had the B&M in my 996 which was literally half the throw and this OEM 997 SSk. Any1 with exp on this help us out??

This is the actual OEM short shifter I got from SunCoast, part number 99742498300. It's the whole assembly that bolts directly on, no need to savage parts from the stock shifter like the others.

Not sure what that other one is...

Its kinda of weird I got my orig shifter and the part number is the same as what you got for the OEM SSK. When I got the SSK in I checked the part number and it was what you got as well. But it doesnt add up, my Orig Shifter and the SSK have the same numbers. Now that said after driving the car 2day theres a difference in the shifters now that I drove it a bit. The throws have been reduced (not by much so the 20% is really tough to call but can feel it) and the throws are MUCH more precise its just throw and BANG. And WAY SMOOTHER now and no problems getting into 1st gear. I just wanted to hear from guys with the OEM SSk that say came from a B&M on a 996 that the throws arent a BIG difference like the B&M. And thanks guys for the responses and pics

I received my 997-424-983-00 Porsche OEM Short Shift Kit the other day. $299 including shipping from Porsche of Huntington. I too was expecting just the "shifter" part, that would have to be somehow integrated into the whole mechanism. Nice that you just pull out the OEM module and plug in this new one.

Car is going in on Friday for SSK, 997 Pan Americana Tequiptment Roll-over Bar, 997 GT2 Sport Bucket Seats, SharkWerks FE, and Schroth Profi 2-H belts.
