Gundo hack on a 997.2?

Hello all

Im really thinking about doing the gundo hack to the stock mufflers on my car(997.2s). i heard some sound clips and honestly i think its good. plus the price is not expensive at all so you have nothing to lose . my question is, should the pipe be 1.5 inches or 2 inches ?
Any other reason why i should not go for it ?

thanks in advance.

Have you given any thought to what it might cost to put the system right should you decide you don't like it with the $ 10 hack on your $ 2000 exhaust system ?

For $400 bucks just get the side muffler by-pass pipes. Easy to switch back to stock also.

Well, the thing is, i drive this car everyday. I dont want to delete the two mufflers since that might be too loud for a DD car. I still dont see why this is a bad idea? I didnt come across any negative comments from the people who did the mod. I was planning on doing it this weekend but you guys are giving me doubts

don't exactly know what a gundo hack is, but if its not reversible, would say getting a center bypass is a good option... marginally extra sound and easy to change back...

here is the link to the Gundo hack thread (PSE bypass).

I've done it on my DD and it's great. I picked up a set of second hand C2S cans on EBAY so kept the originals (not that it really matters as you cant notice the extra noise until you get on the gas).

yeah, i think it is best to do it the right way, but go with your heart, i just think on a $90,000 car, it is worth it to spend the extra $1500.... just my thoughts.....

That my 997 with the UBOAT plate. I did the hack 2+ years ago and it's perfect. Not too loud not too soft. Just right. You can't go wrong. Plus if you don't like it there are a ton of 997 mufflers available for cheap money from all the folks who have spent $2K+ on aftermarket systems.

Best

+1. That's exactly my thought too. Tubi sounds great on our car.
