MoBridge and iPhone 3GS problem

I've used a MoBridge system in my car for the past year or so. Part of my business responsibilties is technology for mobile phones so I end up with a bunch of 'em. Each time I get a new one, I connect it with the BT function in the MoBridge system. I just got my hands on an iPhone 3GS (the latest) and I can't get it toconnect. The phone 'sees' the Mobridge, the connection process begins, but it just stops and fails. Big bummer. I have succeeded in connecting prior iPhone models, so it's this is particularly odd.
I've sent a note off to MoBridge (too soon to expect a response) but I thought I'd ask if anyone has any experience with this configuration?
Thanks
P.S. And have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.

I have exactly the same problem. Previous iPhones paired without a problem. The 3gs doesn't want to know. Is the answer a simple firmware update? Please let me know if you get any joy out of mobridge. In my experience, customer service is not their strong point!

Keep me posted as well please. I have been planning on getting a Mobridge but if it doesn't work, then there's no need. Mu 3Gs works great with the MB. Anybody know if Denison or any others pair well with the 3GS?

I just recently installed the Mobridge. I have a Iphone 3G. My initial pairing and download of the phonebook takes a long time, I happened to leave the phone in the car and come back 1-2 hours later. It does download the whole phonebook.

However, the next time or 2 when I get in the car it only partially syncs the phonebook. It always stops at the last name under "A".

I have contacted mobridge and they say that I must have some non alphanumerics in the phone, which I have deleted all, but still same issue.

Help?????

TIA

I had issues with my blackberry. I exported whole phone content, edited it to remove all items that were not phone numbers, etc, uploaded cleaned up content back and had no issues since.

Try to export all data and reset the phone - check them if it will pair or not, then you can try to upload old content back, completely or partially and find what item makes it to hang.

In fairness to Mobridge, as a counterpoint I received incredibly quick and helpful responses from Mobridge customer service the two or three times I contacted them (both pre and post purchase).

I got a relatively quick response as well. Turns out my problem was related having all those different phones (noted in my first post). I had exceeded the Mobridge software limitation of the number of handsets that could be sync'ed and stored. I could not find a note anywhere that there is a limit, and it's a bit obscure to delete the old ones. But once done, everything has worked fine.

I agree, the response for service from the Mobridge guys has been great. Quick response each time.

I have deleted all the numbers that were fax numbers on my Iphone (I figured since Iphone registers them as a fax, it may have been getting hung up on the type of number). So we shall see if it will work.

My last option would be to wipe out the phone and re-enter all the numbers again to make sure there is no lingering issue......hate to do that, but we shall see.

Still having issues: could there be a hang up if you have two numbers like work and mobile listed under one name???

i had issues with some non-numeric items stored in phone number cells I think - like x123 for extension, etc. Plus some short numbers like pin codes. When I left only standard phone numbers in phone number cells and moved all junk into comments/other fields - phone started to link fine.

It is slowly and annoying way but I would try to erase phone completely and starting adding items by sections 10 numbers each and then find which section hangs and them work within section to find what causes issues. Plus Porsche phonebook is limited to 100 something items I think, it is relatively small. How large is your phonebook?

Not that many numbers. I think someone told me it can hold 150-200. I have now about 100.

I have tried everything, have enough only listed one phone number per person. There were some entries that I only had a last name and no first. So I just fixed that last night. So shall see. It is kinda weird because when I first pair the phone with the system, it says loading phone book for ever. I later turn the car off and come back and it has loaded everything and works fine. But next time I come back to the car it gets hung up and only partially loads the phonebook, like 10-12 names or so.

hmm. where is your unit mounted? may be bluetooth signal is not strong enough? It is quite strange. Mine has more than hundred contacts and it pairs in 3-4 seconds, pretty fast. What does Mobridge support says?

Mobridge said it was some issue with non alphanumberics. I did have these before but got rid of them. I havent emailed them back yet.

The unit is in the footwell on the right.

It is interesting, I tried making a hotlist and downloading that, I get some numbers that download, a couple in the list dont download and I get some on the PCM that arent in the hotlist.....lol.....this sucks!!! so annoying.

I have another person tell me that it might be the programming of my PCM on the PIWIS??? He thinks the programming list is screwed up. I had a dension unit before the mobridge that did the same exact thing, I couldnt get a complete download. I dont know how the everything elso could work so well, like the phone and IPOD but the phonebook keeps getting hung up because of a bad programming, I would think that the other things would not be working.
