Those over revs in 3,4,and 5 of 1 each are most likely an error.

Someone posted a DME scan about 2 months ago of something similar but I think in that case it had zero in a lower level that would have made that impossible. You could have the dealer put it in writing that this is probably an error and that they would cover you in case of catastrophic failure barring you don't add to the level 4 and 5 revs. Just a thought.

ucla95 is infamous around these parts
I passed on the car. I don't understand these DME errors but I don't need a car with questions that I'll have a hard time selling on the back end.

Probably a very good decision in the end. Simply too many cars out there.

Even though some might argue that a track driver is more experienced with his Gt3 than the dentist driving his 997S to the supermarket --it's still a very different shopping experience . Also keep in mind that many of those Gt3 former owners paid top dollar for that car . It's a very different market (used or new) .

As for Turbo owners getting bored --I have seen just the opposite . If you look at the 993 and 996 Turbo forums many of those guys had their cars for many years and still savor the enthusiasm .

The problem with the Turbo is that the prices really dropped last year and now they have climbed . Plus to modify a Turbo adds another cost and it's really needed to bring the car to an amazing level .
iv been looking for a GT3 for well over 2 months and i do agree that its much tougher to find a good one @ a fair price than the turbo and mostly because they made very few compared to turbos and many are holding onto their GT3's so a lot less GT3 to go around. there are only about 630 07 GT3's for america and a scant 130 were brought over in 08.
very few 2010's if the rumor mill is correct especially since they are talking about only producing the RS from now on for 2010

a simple search of autotrader will show the numbers desparity between turbo and GT3 availability.

persistense pays off and after 2 months, i found my dream GT3 with the options i wanted and only 2K miles CPO. sold the C2 S and am awaiting delivery of the 3.

something else i have noticed is that in the last 6 months, GT3's have slowly but surely surpassed 997tt prices on average. there are many more TT's available at the 90k mark than GT3's and this might go back to the fact that there are less GT3's available and the fact that some turbo owners are coming into the 3 fold.

there isnt a whole lot of price difference between a 2010 and a low mile 07-08 GT3 and i even considered the new car at one point but given enough time, one can score a gem weather its a GT3 a tt or a carrera on the used market.

Wow Bara -Nice story . I still remember when you got your car and I hear ya on the Gt3 . I almost traded my 09 PDK on a new 2010 car . As you said the prices of used is very close to new . The gist I got after talking to three different dealerships is that the Gt3 is a car that they are accustomed to making profit on . The odd part was that all three had 2010 cars . Most of the cars on the lot either lacked the engine mounts , or the front spoiler lift . The 2010 car realy needs both for the street as the angle of attack with the fronr spoiler is quite low --not as low as my Turbo but low enough in the center to scrape easily. I measured it .

The bottom line -
I wasn't going to pay at or near MSRP and take the loss on my 09 car . Dollar for dollar I felt that the 20 percent discount on the 09 car with the mods I have on it was a better value than the Gt3 at MSRP but I also felt that the Gt3 was the better car .

Congrats on your car . You probably can't wait to get it.

I too just got a 2007 GT3 with 2,500 miles.

It has all the options I wanted (and a few more I don't care about)

The price was right, you just ahve to be patient
