I drive in Sport Mode, how about you?

I have my car for 80 miles now. Still has plenty to explore. Here is the way I drive so far. I start the car in Normal mode, once rolling I switch to Sport Mode right away. Regular mode could not satisfy me, I feel the car heavy and sluggish. But once in Sport Mode, wow, it flies. Haven't tried the Sport Plus yet.

Straightly PDK (automatic), tried the paddle but don't know how to come back to auto mode. Have to do some P ready first.

How about you? Would you mind to share your driving pattern?

If you are in D mode and use the buttons, the car will be in manual mode, in the gear you selected, for a period of 8 sec. After 8 sec if you do not shift again it will revert to auto mode. Paddles in D more are for a temporary correction. If you want to be permanently in manual mode engage M.

BTW... it's all in the Owners Manual.

P.S. - On the street/road I do often switch to SC Sport, but turn off Sport PASM, unless the road surface is perfect. This is the so-called Schumacher mode.

Does the sports mode make the car faster? It feels like it revs up quicker. Did anyone ever do any testing with sports mode on and off?

Sport mode does not literally make the car faster. Sport mode remaps the throttle so the response is more touchy. It really does make a huge difference though! I leave my sport mode on all the time just because it opens the valves on my PSE exhaust and I love the noise vs. barely being able to hear it w/sport mode on.

Im actually in the middle of testing. Its a cheesy test but shows results. I got more testing to do because im doing it for when I flash my ECU Monday to see b4 and after of the Flash. But doing 4 pulls same distance 2 in Normal and 2 in Sport everything identical. It was 3k RPM in 2nd Gear basically 30mph and measured going on a on ramp to I95 this on ramp is awesome its literally 500yds of straight away. The local Porsche dealer takes clients out that way to WOT cars and its not congested so dont want no1 saying its unsafe. Anyway Sport was 2 MPH faster measured in Light Poles but both runs in Sport were identical MPH as well as Normal so just a quick FYI. Test to be cont w EVOMSit flash next week

Sport mode goes on once my car is at normal oil op temp. Did not use it until car was broken in though as the revs peak fairly quickly in first gear and it's easy to get above the break in rev max suggestion in the book. Even now, when in sport mode, I tend to hit limiter in first more often than I'd like to admit. Can't do over rev damage going up, assuming oil temp is up, but still a little disturbing when the limiter kicks in.

Sport mode makes the car reacts faster, I think react faster mean faster car. A push of button make you feel you are driving a different car.

It's on all the time. The car feels like a Lexus without it. Agree with 996CABOVA- going for the EVOMSit ECU upgrade next week-

It's the first thing I do after starting her up. I wish there was a way to re-program to be in Sport by default (not suspension though!)!

Normal mode is awful --except when warming up the car or gridlock traffic . Sport mode in the city is somewhat agressive downshifting to 1st and on the highway will not remain in 7th gear using gas at 55 MPH.

I use manual mode set to sport most of the time . I switched the buttons to the paddles and find it comfortable.

Actually, I use normal mode when cruising on highway. It is more gas efficiency. Sport mode is good in the city, it response faster.

I always drive with the sport chrono on. As soon as I turn the car on, I press that button. I have a manual car and I just love the better throttle response.

I just wish there was a way to configure it to default on. If I want the grandma mode I should have to select it.

I drive with mine on 90% of the time simply b/c it opens up the PSE. I actually turn it off when I drive on the freeway and just cruise.
