More thoughts on an '09 C4S deal . . .

Any ideas on this from the saavy buyers here . . . $112595 sticker >> $92,500 out the door. The car has been going nowhere for six months - I think the color combo is great, but are folks turned off by Terracotta full leather interior?
I'm still trying to get into the high 80's as I have to pay a substantial amount to ship the car west - am I out of line with my thinking?

I do not think so. BTW - what are the options?

$20K off 2009s seem to be commonplace, a little more is just fair in my book, especially if they want to get the 09's off the lot.

i dont know what the tax rate is in your state, but assuming 7%, thats like getting the car for $86k. which I think is fair.
Personally I like the terracotta, tho I agree w/ others that it may trade at a discount now and at resale.
I know when I ran into a wall on price, I just asked for dealer options. Perhaps, you can ask them for clearbra, battery tender, etc?
enclosed shipping s/b approx $1500-1800.
good luck

With Porsche's reluctant production numbers there will hardly be a better deal in the future. If YOU like the color combo, go for it.

For a reference I got 16.5K off about 6 weeks ago on a very well optioned C4S. Could have gotten 18K off the C4, C2S especially the cabs but this was the only (other than launch cars) '09 C4S coupe on my dealer's lot in my state. They were not willing to let go off the car for anything lesser than that. To me, buying it from a nearby dealer is more important than saving another 1 or 2 k. I say go for it if you really like the car ( I agree with you..it seems to be very well-optioned IMO) do not go for it at all if you cannot live with the interior color. I am sure if the interior/exterior color combo looks great as U say, the interior color will grow on you and you will really like the interior as time goes by...trust me. You havent even bought the car, do not worry about the resale value.

You should be able to get any 09 for $20K off. I bought mine in Florida and shipped it to Cal. I went to the Porsche site, looked for dealers in major areas (FL, CA) then went to their websites to find the one I wanted. Took a while, but well worth it. When I got the salesman on the line told him strait away what I wanted to pay. Had three dealers willing to give me a deal. With 2010's on the lot the 09's got to go. Good luck

Do you think this $20K off MSRP is applicable to the base model 09 C2 with a handful of basic options? I've been quoted 81K MSRP for a 09 C2 (76K base + 5K options) and I'm trying to determine what would be a good offer for me to make.
Thanks!

I would think 18-20% off would be a deal. So for a 81k MSRP figure $15-16K off a 2009.

Out the door - including sales tax? If so, thats a great deal. Without sales tax - its an OK deal. The Terracota is a personal thing. If you like it - thats all that matters (until it comes time to sell).

I'd say do it You will love it. I do.

joppa,

Good to see another Oregonian on here. Just curious if you've had much luck with any cars at Carrera Motors since they are in your backyard.

Good point. For reference, no sales tax here in Oregon.

In the bay area, I've received emails from both Fremont Porsche and Steven's Creek Porsche for promoting leftover 09s, as much as 32k off MSRP on 911s. This was about 2 months ago and I am pretty certain Fremont doesn't have any more 09 left overs. I do not know the details of the car and the options, so perhaps you can call them to check if the deals are still available.
