Made the leap - to the GT3!
After receiving some helpful advice on this board over the last several weeks, I finally took the plunge and traded in the C2S for a '07 GT3 today. Not an easy decision for many reasons- the '07 C2S was in great shape, CPO'ed, with good options (PSE, Sport shifter, Chrono, Bose, etc), and is clearly a great car either as a daily driver or 2nd vehicle. Installed AWE Cats 2 months ago- really added to the exhaust note. But then made the mistake of test driving a Lotus Elise SC/Exige and found it to be deliciously fluid yet raw - but realistically couldn't see trading the C2S straight up for a what is essentially a Celica GTS engine wrapped in an aluminum bathtub. But after that, I craved something a little more visceral- which I then posed in a thread here asking if a bunch of mods would "add up" to a GT3- to which the answer was pretty much "no".
Then test drove a fairly basic '07 GT3 a couple of weeks ago and couldn't stop thinking about it. Everything about it is just "more" than the C2S, which could be good or bad depending on your perspective. First, it truly sounds majestic, an intoxicating mechanical symphony which I could listen to all day - but bad from a daily driver standpoint if you need to speak on phone, cart people around, no back seat, etc. It's also clearly faster than the C2S but feels a little twitchier too on the Sport Cups, esp in the 25 deg somewhat wet, cold weather today. Handles great, with almost no body roll at real world speeds- but tradeoff is that it sits pretty low and has a somewhat brittle ride esp on bad pavement. Love the notchier high-feedback shifter compared to sport shifter on the C2S - but could see it becoming a pain in rush hour traffic. Looks superb too, a truly integrated aero package- but definitely attracts more unwanted attention than the C2S. Heavy clutch - appropriate for the car but requires more effort. And so on.
To me, I love everything about the car, and don't find any of the "buts" above to be issues. Thanks for all the advice and help - esp. yrralis, NorthVan, RonCT, the last month! Pics and details to come soon-

BTW -Your trade in car might be an ideal purchase as you seemed to really like it and took this step up .
You have a great car now . I can understand exactly how you must be feeling.

Top Gear says: "The standard Carerra is fairly rapid, the ‘S' just about spot on. The Turbo would be as close to insanity as a 911 could get if it weren't for the GT2. So take a Carrera S and a GT2, rub them together and you get a GT3; the perfect performance Porsche".

Contratulations and enjoy in good health! One thing I never thought to try when I had my GT3 was an alignment / corner balance with the ride height slightly higher than stock, to avoid all the scraping. Maybe tuck that in the back of your mind if you find it a real problem on the street.
