New look with polyurethane parts

Just got these roof spoiler, rockers and lip installed. There are polyurethane not fiberglass.
Extremely strong. bottomed out and won't crack. You can roll these parts up and they go right back to their original shape. Super smooth to paint. I like the lip design also.

GT3TEK one of our sponsors. Excellent quality product. I really think this material is awesome especially for people who tracks their P-car. Don't have to worry about cracking. Super strong stuff.

I like the front lip...nice original design.....BUT the side skirts look like Techart's.
I looked into building mine with this same material but found it was an expensive route.....so I just built the molds and skirts out of fiberglass!

Any pricing on this stuff?

Stacy

Stacy,

$575 for the rockers and $399 for the lip.

http://gt3tek.com

They are in the process of coming out with more polyurethane parts such as front and rear bumpers. Check out the web site.

That is great news and at a great price point!
If they keep their prices this low and the parts fit......it will stop the 'COPY-CATS' from stealing the design.
As a consumer I would buy this before fiberglass.....a lot more durable!
BUT only IF they fit...!

Those parts fit on my car with no modification. They bolt right on.

Right, the rockers look just like TechArt, but a fraction of the price. THe lip is really cool and an absolute awesome price. Looks a lot better than the TechArt version.

Following on Stacey's point, I'd like to see the stuff installed on another car to see real fit. Also, doesn't this stuff need to be pre-painted? Maybe not, I guess factory bumpers can be painted. Prepainted, I'd snap up a lip just to check it out...

No matter of the fit....you still want to test fit parts before painting. Also FWI parts like this are a snap to paint, hardest part is matching the color....which is why they would never pre-paint.Paint will fade as time goes on.

Like I posted above....I would like to see something other than 'that' shape for the sides. The line (strake) that flows from the front and up on an angle to the rear just does NOT flow with the rest of the car.....IMO
I had a set of side skirts(Techarts) the same shape and found that they took away the look of the wider rear, which is why I sold the Techart's and designed my own style.I tried to enhance the fact that our cars are a bit wider in the back!
My Porsche dealer has seen both mine and the style above and they have always said they like my style. My buddy at the parts counter also wonder how some schmuck like myself did it,LOL!

Looks great. Can anybody explain to me the difference/pro's and con's of polyurethane vs. fiberglass for these type of aftermarket add on parts?
