I'm curious about this myself. As the spring draws near, the mod bug starts to bite again.

Just so everyone knows what you mean, I attached a pic. I'm loving the look, simplicity and alleged power gains. Wonder if anyone on the board has gotten one yet?

Thank you for posting the picture. I guess it has just come out, so hopefully over time we'll learn more about it.

I wonder how effective that small heat shield will be in preventing heat soak. The filter element isn't sealed off, nor does it have the foam lining the Evo intake has to create some sort of suction with the decklid to isolate it from the rest of the engine.

How is this better than Fabspeed's twin cone filter intake? Seems like cutting the total filter area by half would limit the engine's ability to breathe, especially on the top end.

Twin cone is for 997.2, this is the 997.1 version.

Hmmmmmm...... a hot air intake with half the filter area of the 997/2 version. Don't see this working somehow.

TBH, I can't see how it can be as good as the EVOMS intake. The EVO has a similar size filter and intake tube but with cold air trunking to get outside (cold) air to the filter rather than hot engine bay air.

Doesn't look weather proof. Do the instructions indicate it's for fair weather use only ?

Looks like it will suck a lot of hot air in. The thin carbon fiber sheild will not shield much.

Nope, no problem. I'm told they are backordered for two weeks. My car has an EVOMS intake that I added about 4 months ago. But I've been so impressed by Fabspeed's other products, and the physical design of their new intake that I thought I'd give it a go. I'll write up a comparison after I receive it and, presuming that it's a keeper, I'll be selling my EVOMS. BTW the EVOMS is a nice piece too. Seems to add a bit of performance (could be psychological) and definitely makes some nice music at high RPM/WOT. We'll see what happens at the bakeoff.
