New to Porsche and forum
Hi,
Just purchased a 2006 C4 Cab (20,000 miles at purchase two weeks ago, more now!) Very well decked out. Was planning on trading in my 11 year old Audi S4 with 100,000 miles on it, but I can get so little for this perfectly maintained and optioned up beauty, that I decided to keep it.
This is actually the first time I've ever bought a used car in my (long) life but with new performance Audis and BMWs going for about the same as a nice used Porsche 997-1, I just couldn't pass this up. I am so very happy I did this. I'm now an expert at adjusting the heat and seat warmer so I can comfortably drive with the top down in the dead of winter. I was going to learn about equipping the 19" wheels with snow tires, but now I just hop in my wonderful old Audi when the snow and ice are on the street.
So anyway -- hello and look forward to learning all I can here.

Nice car, and welcome. I am sure you will love your new ride. I had a 2000 A6 2.7T 6 speed, basically a bigger S4, and it was the best car I ever had until I got my C4S last year. Have fun.

Welcome to 6speed. You will soon (if not already) realize that there simply is no substitute for your Porsche. Drive safe in good health. +1 on keeping your well kept S4 which is certainly worth more to you than to the open market.
Thanks for all the kind comments and welcomes. I've already joined Rennlist PCA. Chose 6speed to post first because I find the forum a bit easier to follow than Rennlist. I also like the DIY section although every project on the Porsche seems to be an order of magnitude more complex than on the Audi.
Still getting used to several things:
1) Limited access to engine
2) No spare tire
3) Electronic display of oil level
4) The joy of driving such a fun car
Thanks again,

Oh, I put a somewhat bigger version of my sig image in the garage (finally figured out how to do that). Is that the usual place people post their images? How do I get my car to appear next to my User ID in messages (or is it there, but I'm too new and so not allowed to see them)?
