Thumbs down day Seven.. uh-oh.. NEED HELP

its unfortunate these are the first pics i post of my car..

how fast things change in a day..

last night, after another drive around the block and re-parked in my garage, i noticed my car is leaking..

i first noticed the puddle of water-like fluid near the rear of the vehicle about 30 minutes after i pulled into the garage.

looking down, i noticed the leak is actually near the front right axle..

since my garage (as most garages) is slightly tilted so the water runs away from the house, the fluid was running down from the front towards the rear. (my car was parked head-in)

the fluid has low density (viscosity) and has a slight hint of reddish hue to it.. otherwise, it was dripping from the car like water !

my first thought was 'whew, its not from the engine.." but i was still upset..

what do u think? brake fluid? power-steering fluid?

i dont know much about the Pcars and where everything is located..

i am gonna have the car towed backed to the dealership i got it from (pacific Porsche) and have them deal with it..

but i wanted some feedback from the forum members about what the problem may be.. and the best way to handle it.

PS there are about 1+ liters of the fluid gathered in a pool.. and the dripping stopped.. i figure whatever it was has emptied out (?)

also , i did not run over anything or hit anything as i was driving last night.. nor any other times i drove it..

pics are taken with my phone so the quality is not so good.

thx in adv

If it's at the right front axle it's coolant or tranny fluid; regardless, a liter is a hell of a lot + that's what you got the CPO for. Call Porsche, and they'll have it trailered in (you don't tow Porsches). It will be fine.

btw, sweep up your garage floor

i will.. its been very windy here last few days.. it will easier to sweep without the Pcar in the garage..

the car will be on a flat-bed.. i was trying to do it this morning but had to open up shop.. oh well

the dealership i got it from doesn't do service on Saturday.. but there is another nearby (Mckenna Porsche or Downtown Porsche) that will do service on sat..

is this something they can fix in a day.. so i can drive it by sat night?
(or does anything even get fixed in one day in a P-world? )

or should i just take it to the place i got it from.. and give them time next week to work on it ?

First, that sucks, sorry to hear about it.

My advice is to have it taken to the dealer where you'll have all your work done. Good idea to focus on 1 dealership if they do good work. You should be rewarded over time with getting in faster, better loaners, even discounts on labor and parts mod related. Plus, they will know your call well.

Next, try to get your mind off it. All will work out and you'll be off again.

good advice.

it was like that with my BMWs. The local dealership always hooked me up with the best loaners.

guess the only reason i thought about taking it to the dealership i got it from, even its further away, was, just in case, Porsche tries to deny warranty work/claim for any reason.

I do not know what caused the problem, as of now, and it may be easier to work with Pacific, since they only sold it to me 7 days ago..

on the other hand, i am so eager to drive it this weekend.. Argh

i will do my best not to think about it..

I don't think its too serious but it is an inconvenience and disappointing. I also codidered transmission fluid but since the car is a manual I am still sticking with my first guess --but i a not a technician and might be wrong.

Sometimes when the car sits and then is driven hard it may open up a leak . Little seals crack with lack of use and that why garage queen cars even need a little exercise.

you think so? coolant is also somewhat reddish in color. when my pump was leaking residue on pump was completely red. it may be as simple as a leak from a radiator.

Probably a better guess than mine . I tend to buy the car and drive it but when it comes to fixing it I sometimes guess right and other times not. What's more important is that I know where to get my car fixed . It's not always what one knows .. but how well he can find out when he doesn't know.

Dexcool or it's equivalent is reddish in color and the choice for most new cars. Gotta be a front radiator or line connecting to it.
