Horn/visor/GUNDO HACK

Upon preparing for a track day yesterday I had an inspection done on my car. All is great, except sometime betwixt last Monday and Saturday my horn lost its low tone and now just squeals high pitched when I honk it. Bizarro. Also my drivers visor light doesn't work and probably never did. Also had this minor bug on my Cayenne back in the day. Guess they don't care much about those silly visors.

The horn thing bothers me. It's weird. Anybody else had this problem ?

And oh yeah, GUNDO hack will be coming soon.

I recently noticed that my horn sounds like something that belongs on a bicycle. Does anyone have any good aftermarket recommendations? I do like the sound of those italian air jobs.

BTW, I was all over Japan last week and heard ONE person beep their horn the entire week. Coming home from LAX, I heard at least 5 blasts on the way to my house which is only 20 min away.

My horn was replaced under warranty just a few months after I bought the car new (2007 C2S). Same symptoms you describe.

The mechanic at the dealer said that Porsche outsources their horns from an outside vendor. Apparently the quality isn't that great. He said "they build great engines, but the horns are ugly".

Same here on my 08. Horn was screwy one month after taking delivery with the same symptoms the OP described. Replaced/fixed and no problems since.

I like what the mechanic said

I think I would rather have a great engine and a girly horn than the other way around

For $100,000 I'd rather have both.

I had to have my horn replaced last year under warranty.
The service tech said that it's not uncommon to have the horns go out in 997s.
