Service recommendations S. CA
Service recommendations S. CA
My 2 year service is coming up on my 08 911 S. Is there a dealer that anybody can recommend in Southern California for service? I live in Santa Clarita. Any help is greatly appreciated
It's a bit of a trip for you but I've been using Valley European in Van Nuys. Fred Garcia is extremely knowledgeable and reasonable in regards to pricing.http://valleyeuropean.com

but i've read few horror stories re: Rusnak..
do a search 'Rusnak'
I can't say enough things about TRE motorsports and as a bonus you get to see the great work they do on all kinds of Vintage Porsches (they are the primary builder of nearly every tribute car featured in Excellence)
I recommended them to someone else on Renntech.org and he had amazing things to say about them too.
TRE Motorsports Inc
15854 Strathern Street,
Van Nuys, CA 91406-1309
(818) 509-0257
ask for Jeremy and tell him Marc sent you.
Experience at TRE from Renntech.org:

PS: TRE's owner Dave is the person who organizes the infamous New Year's day run and Turkey Day runs. a must do.

Call Rusnak and do a price inquiry for a part. Call another dealer (i.e. downtown LA porsche, pacific porsche) and ask for the same part. You'll realize Rusnak marks up their prices quit a lot. When you confront them about it, their answer is "well, this is how we stay in business"...
That's where we bought our 997.2 last November. This is our first p-car, but our necessarily limited experience with them has been quite satisfactory.

Just got my 2 yr done at McKenna, oil change + brake fluid change + usual inspection just a tick under $400 out the door with their coupons on the web site. Bit of a drive but Im a fan of their service dept. Ask for Huy (pronounced wee).
Definitely worth a visit, if only to admire the other exotics they keep around. A Carrera GT was in for service while we were there, and their dealership handles Maserati and Ferrari as well as Audi. This is good positioning from a marketing point of view. It lets us feel superior to the poor little hotrodded sedans they keep down the block, while they seem to keep a couple of Maseratis and a Ferrari in the Porsche showroom as a regular thing. Maybe a Lamborghini once in a awhile. Having just reviewed the options list for a 599 GTB makes you feel positively cheap if you quibble about a mere $8,000 for the ceramic brake option on a Porsche, right?
Seriously, I made the appointment knowing which marques they carry so I was alert to any sense of class consciousness about the dealership. We'd have left for Beverly Hills or even Walter's Porsche in Riverside if I'd seen any sign of that. We expect to be treated as the most important customer of the day wherever we go and I won't put up with anything less. They were quite satisfactory, as I say. Service manager is Don.
I think the other brands lying around are just a combination of space considerations among the different lots and showrooms, and temptation for the occasional buyer who might want to sidegrade his toy from a Porsche to Ferrari or even slip into the luxo world with a Quattroporte. They don't even mention the others unless you ask, but it is fun to browse as I say.
