Take a look at the Suncoast parts website. I think front rotors are now $335 and rears still $280. Pads are less. Total parts are in the $1000 range with new sensors, etc. So it appears they are at about $600 for parts profit (above the deep discount of Suncoast) and labor. Not outrageous, but also not great. I had a shop recently quote me $200 to change out rotors, and therefore pads, etc. had to come out.

That is assuming it is both front and rear, and a S.

As for the labour, it is an easy swap, and as a DIY should be about 1-1.5 per axle (or faster if you have done it before).

I never did it on my car ever - at first try pads replacement was 15min per corner, If U would have to disconnect calipers and swap rotors - may be it would add 15 min more top.

$130 per hour rate - let`s say 2 hours top - $300 max for labor. So question is what parts were ordered for that 'brake job' to make up for rest of $1300. Some rotors may run that high.

Where are you getting this quote from? A stealership or an independent shop?

Take 30% off for an independent shop (approx.).

Please inform me as I am in LA as well.

Thanks,

Steve

Carrera or Carrera S????

For an S like RonCT said front and rear rotors will be around $610, pads will be $400, you can reuse the sensors if you did not activate them. Hardware will be a few buck if you replace the pin, cotor key, anti-squel stuff.

$1600 is OUTRAGEOUS! More like $1200 most with labor but the job is soooo easy.

Will the rotors typically last 2 sets of pads? My rear pads are low and I'm wondering if I will need rotors too. Not sure if I trust an indi or even my dealer to tell me if the rotors are within spec!

Any DIY explination? My car needs both front and rear as well as the rotors. 48.000 KM=30.000 Miles

Yes the rotors should last 2 sets of pads.

Normal change interval is about 30k miles for a car that isn't tracked.

$1600 is outrageous. If the rotors have only seen one set of pads, then why are you replacing them? Regardless, it's a simple DIY job to replace the pads and rotors. Even with basic skills you should be able to do a wheel in a half hour - 45 mins.
