997 Turbo wing on a 997S

I am still looking for a rear wing, but so far the OEM turbo wing looks the best, my questions is this....could an OEM Turbo wing be installed on a 997S?? is there major work required or could you just swap out engine hoods??

it is direct bolt-on if I can recall it from the other thread.

there is a guy who did this to his 997.2 c2s, dealer did the install, so I assume it is a direct bolt-on.

Thanks...quick question...I noticed you have a 2006 turbo'ed C4S and an 2007 997 turbo, how does the C4S compare to the 997TT??

Funny you should ask. I just got the part list and pics today of my 997.2S w/ OEM turbo wing. Lemme try to post something in a few.

Here's the new thread -- old thread did not have the details, and was buried in a thread about my journey from GT3 to C2S

It is more work then you would think. It has been done, and the largest amount of time is rewiring it so the tail raises when it needs to.

I was going to do this, but ended up deciding not to. This swap can def be made, but is much more time consuming ($$$) than you think. It is also more difficult for the 997.1 than the .2 cars. Reason being is that on the .1 cars, the air intake box is located closer to the rear of the engine compartment, and thus will hit the hydraulic rams that raise and lower the wing. So you either need to cut holes in the airbox or swap out to a smaller aftermarket air intake. Also the wiring for the brake lights needs to be altered, and for a shop that is doing it for the first time, will def take a while to figure it out.

But it looks awesome though.

A vendor has a turbo wing for sale, check it out. BUT the intakes are also a big thing. The turbo has dual intakes, while the NA has only one and it is not oriented the same way. Looks like MAJOR work. I agree it really looks great. Wish it was offered in a nice aftermarket set. I haven't seen one.

That seems a little steep, but since I really don't know the complete requirements of the install....plus, that would be taking from my turbo fund!!

Unless the .2 is different than the .1 I'm pretty sure it is. Check with/search "MickFluff" on this forum as he did this on his .1 and the wing alone was +- $8K

Not true. The secret to this mod is buying a used wing at a decent price. G Rides is selling a wing for $2,250, which is in the ballpark of what Mick paid.

IMO, the total cost of this mod will be around $6K.

Turbo S spoiler on my 997 GTS

It is definitely possible! Just picked my car up today, after I had a turbo wing installed. I am really happy with the result!
