what mode do you find your self driving in the most.

I personally drive in auto, with sport plus on 90 percent of the time. I find the car feels like a sports car in this mode. The basic mode tends to go to 7th gear by 45 which really annoys me.

I find my favorite gear is 3rd which is perfect for the type of driving I do.

So what mode do you drive in most often?

 

I mostly drive in Manual SPORT mode on the PDK on highways and regular round town. Have never tried Sport plus...............................maybe I should........

 

Normal Auto to warm up the car.
Sport manual 99 percent of driving time.

 

99.3% of the time in Manual mode.

No chrono - so I guess that is non sport mode

 

i use sport auto a lot...rarely use sport plus(only 1200 miles), and i use sport manual a good bit

 

Sport Manual or Normal Manual. I hardly ever use auto mode. My wife drives in Sport Auto. I find Sport Plus Auto mostly suited for the track unless you like driving around at 5000rpms all of the time.

 

I use sport auto, it seems everytime I use sport manual I hit the overrev because I day dream to much.
I have to really be on my toes ( no stereo) to drive in sport manual.
Sport Plus in town ? forget about it.

Doesn't redlining it in 1st seem a bit overkill to you? Or do you manual shift up anyway?

I just put the paddle shift wheel on my 09...much nicer at Sebring last weekend. Although I was giving a guy some hot laps and showning him how PDK works and I put ot over into Sport Plus Auto and the car downshifted and held gears pretty much as I would....PDK in this mode is so freakin perfect I always get a laugh out it on pure amazment.

 

Once engine warms up, 100% of the time I drive it in manual sport mode (way more fun with the manual override where you can hold it atleast one gear lower and let the engine breathe and drive the car like it is meant to be) which IMO is definitely better than auto sport mode. Gridlock traffic ..then I go to auto regular mode but then it feels like a Buick. If there is clear breathing space on a freeway then I slow down to third gear and then accelerate briskly on sport plus mode and manually upshift from third to sixth gear each time when engine revs to about 4500 RPM...now that it instant gratification. Feels like you are driving three different cars..now who is complaining about the price's of Porsches ?

 

but I've completely changed my mind. I really can't think of a more perfect car. it just does so many different things well.
