Driving along - stereo suddenly gets very loud. I turn it down, it gets loud again. I mute it - a moment later it un-mutes and is loud again. I switch from XM to FM, it is at a low to medium volume, I drive along, and suddenly it's loud again - mute on, then off by itself, loud, etc. I switch to Aux, which has no media connected.

Before I reach the office, I try the radio again, and it works fine.

Anyone else have experience with this problem?

Off to the dealership - my first problem with the car during my 3 months of ownership (well, it also has an intermittant rattle in the dash over some bumps, but I was waiting for that to get worse before I brought it to their attention).

Do you have the Bose ststem? If so, there is a feature which makes the stereo louder and softer as the inside of the car gets noisier and quieter....This feature can be turned off...

Just a thought

 

My VW GTI did this, a software update fixed the problem.

 

anyone know how to turn this feature off (I know, look in the manual).
