Coming from the UK...help me decide
Coming from the UK...help me decide
Hi guys,
I'll be coming to Georgia in September to marry my fiancée and if everything goes as planned, settle down there. I may be jumping the gun but I've been looking at new and secondhand prices and I'd like to narrow things down so that I spend as little time shopping and more time driving.
I currently drive a Audi TT V6 and a Range Rover Sport but I've been spending alot of time in a 997 C4S recently and I'm impressed. I spent last weekend test driving the C2S and I'm torn...the C4S has all the grip but felt a little numb to me in direct comparison to the C2S.
I'm just interested in how people across the pond regard the two models. Is there quite a healthy market in Porsche approved (and with warranty) cars? Any must have extras?
Any info or links to reading materials would be appreciated...if nothing else, this post was just to say "Hi".
Cheers.
Chris

Georgia's climate and roads might be better suited for the C2S . The car is lighter and more nimble which provides a smoother handling on dry roads. It's not rainy and rarely snows .
Also the region is a main hub for Porsche mechanics training . Some of the guys stay there so you will get excellent service from what i hear. It is true that there are not too many dealerships competing with each other and i have not heard of many tuners out of the region so you may have to seach further out to get the best price on a car .
Good luck in yoir move and your future.

Many thanks yrralis1, I'm definitely leaning towards the C2S. I quite fancy a a 997.2 C2S but I would be modding the car so I need to find out about the Porsche warranty...maybe make more sense to buy an older car and not worry.
Good point on the weather, cheers.
edit: Probably not the best place to mentionh this, but the only other car I'm tempted by at the moment is the new GTR which I think may be overkill for US roads and speeds.
