What colour black should I paint my wheels?

Hi Everyone,

I'm new on this board and I just purchased a 2006 arctic silver C2 coupe. While I'm waiting for my car to be shipped up to Vancouver from California, I bought some used 19 inch Carrera S wheels on EBay. I plan on painting these wheels black but would like to know what is the best colour black to go with. BTW, I do plan on keeping the silver edge on the wheels. My intuition is telling me that it should be Basalt Black but any advice and pictures would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

as much of a concern as the shade of black should be the finish...either glossy or matte because it will make a huge difference in how the color looks

Are you using Panther? I have a set of Sport Design wheels they painted a metallic black and looked great on the original owners Arctic Silver 997C2S.

I like the matte look IF I was to paint my wheels black......
To the OP....give your wheels to Northvan for a track session and save money...I can guarantee you they will come back black when returned,LOL!

I won't install them until the originals ones are leaking, or I sell the car.

Thanks for the input. I'll be using Nu-Brite Industries in Surrey to paint the wheels. Basalt black is a metallic paint that I am thinking of using.

My wheels were Basalt Black from the factory and I think it looks great. In my opinion, matte black looks ghetto on an expensive car. To each their own..

I have to disagree, I have matte black Volk wheels for the track, and I think they look great.

I would go with something in between gloss and matte.I went with powdercoating as opposed to painting-more durable. The plastic factory center caps were painted though...

Basalt Black for sure! It's a personal preference, but I would stray away from matte black on anything other than a deep dish (ie. big lip) wheel.
