Is pasm working?

Ok here is the deal. I owned an 06 c2s cab and when activating pasm there was a great change in the suspension firmness. Now I have gone to a coupe with 43k miles on it (06 c2s) and when I hit the pasm on this car there is no discerable change in the handling? Now I have stiff sport tires so I should be feeling the road so much more and the stiffing of the suspension? In other words I don't notice any change at all. Any ideas or have any inside scoops on what the deal could be? My dealer where I got the car said there have been no fault codes with the car?

Thanks

The tuber.

When PASM fails, you get a fault and a the shocks revert to the sport setting. If you aren't convinced that your system is working properly, take it to a good indipendent shop and get them to look at. It is possible that the failed system isn't throwing any codes. You could also replace your shocks/springs with Bilstein Damptronics, they have a life time warranty.

It seems that sport mapping for the throttle works fine on my car, exactly like the last car. Its just the suspension that doesn't work it seams.

So my car is a cpo so still under warranty. If the pasm has failed is the dealer going to be honest about it? Usually they don't want to do any work if they can get out of it. Unless Porsche is different? I guess it depends on what a service manager says. I am pretty sure this latest car was tracked a lot.

Wonder if you can reset errors so they no longer show?

Yeah damptronic would be great but at 3700$ after install.

Isn't there an 800# you can call if you have an issue to contest with Porsche?

If an error code occurs, and it is erased, it will return if there is an error.

You can call 1-800-PORSCHE, they can set you in the right direction. My experience with dealers is they will repair anything they can get paid for.

The more noticeable change I found was when driving over a rough road was when I turned PASM back to normal mode, I could feel the compliance coming on and the ride softening. If thats not happening, I'd have the system checked at a professional shop that knows PASM.

I've got to agree with Minok. I'm a new owner, but I was questioning the difference between normal and sport settings of the PASM too and might still have it checked. But like Minok stated, I also notice a softening of the suspension when going back to normal.

While stiffer, i don't think our sport setting is as stiff as say, the GT3's. Switching back to normal shows a subtle, but noticeable difference.

Find one of those California freeways with expansion joints - you'll be able to tell the difference immediately.

So in driving over some bumpy surfaces I do notice a difference but it does not come on as imediate as my first carrera S. So its possible that it does not work as well for some reason. Perhaps the oil has worn out in the shocks?
