What would you like on a future generation 911 ?
A lot of manufacturers have moved on from Bose, will the 911 get the Burmester system offered in the Panamera? And a flat 8 or V8 with a flat plane crank could be made to sound very, very good!
A flat6 is a special case of a V6 - a 180 deg V6. It has unique characteristics, one being lower CG.

All "regular" Carreras should come with the same engine (no need for a base model). Save the high-output engines for cars like the GT3.
And if it costs the same to build a 911 as a Boxster, price the car lower. If that means decontenting the car, that's fine; I'm pretty sure there are many people would buy this kind of car.

freshen up the front and rear styling-its getting boring already! the r8 flat-out makes a 911 look like a camry.
glass hatchback
standard exhaust is a joke. pse should be standard.
might be time for a flat-8
weaker resale values and markdowns are making porshe's traditionally rich pricing structure unwarranted. they gotta stop gouging the customer making things like pse and pasm optional vs standard.

I paid 68% of original sticker on a 4.5 year old car! Awesome shape (13k miles, etc) and Certified, but still... That's the best deal I found, and I looked hard. I cringe to think about it, but I think I'll be happy in the long run. Anyway - I see the prices firming up from the low of 6-12 months ago, and I think this is pretty well understood by anyone paying attention. The big dip was an anomaly, not the norm. The other dip is related to 996, but that era is over and that issue is it's own rathole...
The V6 engine configuration is inherently unbalanced so other than an inline six a boxer six provides better balance as far as configurations go. Packaging is also another reason Porsche's use flat sixes to keep the center of gravity and the weight as low as possible.
I will add:
- Features like those in the Smartop as standard OEM!
- A better windscreen that doesn't have to be manually collapsed and stowed.
- Thicker standard MF/sport steering wheel
i dont follow too closely, so maybe the great 15-20% off msrp deals are no longer available?
all i know is that a 997gt3 in the $70-$80's is a hell of a car.
What I'd like is for them to get with the times and not charge an arm and a leg for now old technology such as GPS, navigation, iPod interface, Bluetooth etc. It hurts to get these at almost no charge on Japanese cars and at much more reasonable rates on say Audi. Now you'll say "But you're paying for a Porsche, engineering, superior performance" etc. But let's be honest we all would like to pay what is fair for these essential things. It just turns me off when the option packages make the car buying experience leave a bad taste in my mouth...
