How to disable tiptronic steering wheel buttons.

When on the track and sawing away at the wheel you can sometimes press the steering wheel mounted gearchange buttons accidentally.
I never use them, so is there any easy way to disable them?

Sawing away? Learn proper steering wheel handling and the problem is no more.

The number of hyper-sensitive people in this forum is staggering. If you see-saw your steering it means one of 2 things: (i) there's something wrong in your car's setup or (ii) you need to learn smooth driving.

You can simply disconnect the tip button electrical contacts (any dealer can do that for you), but that does not make you grow as a driver.

Thanks for that, will get the dealer to do that at the next service. I just find the positioning poor, if it were proper paddles it would be a different story.

My 5c, if you're seeing that "sensitive" reaction to your posts somewhat regularly then perhaps you might want to tone it down a bit or take a second look at your wording before hitting that post button. As an observer your comment seems to be a bit unecessarily strong. I do see your point and there is indeed merit to it, but there's probably 10 different ways you could have made the same statement in a friendlier manner... The OP here is just asking for help on changing something to his particular preference, and you jumped in with a head kick.

I agree. I was at a PCA DE session and the instructor who drove my car accidentally shifted using the bottons - TWICE on the same lap. I doubt he was sawing away.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but how do you guys like PDK while tracking. I really enjoy my mt when at DE's . I am curious if your driving experience at DE's and on the track vary in positive or negative ways. Thanks
