Did the OP or anyone else find more uses for the Durametric? I am tempted to see what other programming can be done.

I have been researching programing on the BMW side and you can program a slew of options. Many are being discovered as people query the modules and activate each function to find out what they do. (Some examples are: enabling closing all window function that is disabled on US cars, having all types of lights go on for the "welcome home" function, closing sunroof when the rain sensor detects rain, etc.) Does the Durametric command console allow you to query modules directly or are you pretty bound within the program that is provided by them?

Have not tried it, but the Pro cable gives you programming access to the control module responsible for multifunction steering wheels.

OK, I admit it - I am jealous! I would love to turn off the seat belt chime. Coming east anytime soon?

I would love to be able to totally dis-arm PSM and TPMS for the track.
I also would love a way to turn PSM off completely.

Apparently the Cayman guys at Planet-9 have worked out a way to do it. They disconnect the yaw sensor. This causes PSM to throw a code, and then disable itself.

The more deluxe version that some have done is to put the yaw sensor ground wire on a switch, so you then get a true "PSM on/off" switch on your dash.

I might try this on my 997 if I get my motivation up enough

Last summer I did the retrofit of the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel of my 997/1. I have the Pro cable, but unfortunately it was not possible to activate the buttons with the durametric.
Luckily the dealer activated the buttons free of charge.

Overall the Pro cable was a good invest for me since I try to do everything on my car myself.

Luzy_V8,

Without the button activation, what other multifunction wheel programming were you able or needed to do? Isn't it pretty much the buttons? Was this with the Beta 6.0b?

Have you ever tried the command console? Does it allow you command prompt access? I take it you can probably learn a lot about the commands through the logging function and interpret the commands that way and query the modules yourself.

Any experience with the pro cable you can elaborate on would be helpful.

Thanks

I read a lot about the endless possibilities you can do with the Pro cable, but I haven't played enough with it yet. But I guess I will do in the next months, because I am not driving her during the winter time but working on her instead .... at least I did a lot last winter:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ion-too-3.html

Regarding the multifunction buttons I simply activated the functions as it would have come with it from the Porsche factory. There is one button you can program individually anyway.
Some more information about what is possible with the Pro cable you can find here:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...xperience.html

I just checked the Durametric homepage and found out that there were several software updates since I downloaded it the last time. I used 6.0.1.4 and the latest software is 6.0.5.7:

http://www.durametric.com/versionhistory.aspx

What exactly do you mean with the "command console " ?

This is what they say on their website:

"Command console (professional version only). Provides direct communication with the control module for advanced users."

It is also described the same way in their manual and no further details. To a computer person, a command console is like a terminal so I am assuming I can bypass the limitations of the UI to get direct access to the modules.

Since they are so vague, I figure I ask people that actually own the product hence the post.

Here it is on the menu. Look at the picture I attached. On the left side right below coding is "command console", have you ever click on it?
