As far as your friends case and its validity in my mind that is irrelevant to this thread. What is important is what information Porsche had and how they got it.
nick my 2 year old 996 with less than 10k miles had over 29,000 type 1s and 0 type 2s. type 2s are only caused by a missed downshift or spinning the car without the clutch in. type 2s can be (and usually are) deadly to a motor. porsche doesn't give a crap about type 1s (that's what the rev limiter is for).

Not sure how they got the info but they did and i saw it in the meeting.

Only lesson to be learned is that it is best to not get back in the face of Porsche even if they are not treating you fairly...If they decide to hang you they will!
