New to me 997.1 and had a question regarding heated seats.

I just recently purchased a 997.1 C2. This is our first Porsche. My question is that it seems like the heated seats only want to work in the mornings when I first turn the car on. During the day, the car sits out side and is not driven until about 6pm or so. So, in the evening, I attempt to turn on the heated seats, and it does not work. The lights on the buttons, and the heated seats seem like they dont like being on during the evenings. Any ideas or tips are much appreciated.

I don't really know what could be going on, are you hitting the button once or twice? It's a 1-2-off button arrangement, perhaps this has something to do with it.

Just hitting in once, and its not turning on. It seems like when they work, they both work, and when its not working, none of them work.

hmm, I'm sure there's an overheat prevention sensor in the seats, sounds like you'll need a trip to someone qualified to look at it.

Thanks for the tips.

I already figured it out. I just took apart the center console, disconnected and reconnected the wiring harness for the climate control/heated seat panel and everythings good now.

feels good when you DIY and figure things out doesn't it?

Ok, so it worked that day, and not the next. So I am back to square 1.

It always works in the mornings how its supposed to, but in the evenings, the only way I can get it to work is if I turn on the climate control first. If thats how its supposed to function, I find that just retarded.

Does anyone know if the heated seats are tied into the outside temperature, or does the climate control really have to be on inorder for the heated seats to function?

Last but not least, where are all the relays located at?

Thanks in advance.
