Nano Tint - Dealership or 3rd Party Installation recommendation

I stopped by my Porsche Dealership and saw a Black Panamera with what they called "Nano tint". It reflects alot of the UV rays/heat and you really notice the difference behind the tine. The dealership charges $499 and when I called a local tinting company they charged $150 for my Porsche.

Would you dish out the $499 and have the dealer install it or have the 3rd party tinting company? I've seen the work done by the local tinting company and they do an excellent job. I just cant justify spending $500 for 5 pieces of tint for my Porsche.

Maybe I should left it un-tinted so I can show my interior's guards red seat backing which matches the exterior of my Porsche. Or I can use a 50% tint so I can see clearly at night drives.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Regards,
Darren

Would be surprised if the dealer actually did the tint and $ 150 is more than enough for a Porsche 911. Use the local pro cause I'd beat he's the one doing the tints for the dealer for $ 150.

I asked where they did the tinting as well, and he mentioned down the road at their Mercedes dealership.

I've added a photo (above post) and it shows the interior.

Got my 35% (legal) tint done for $175. Had it done at the shop that does all tinting for our local BMW, Audi, and Porsche dealers. I am sure if I went through the dealer they would have charged more!

TINT is a must. do it. 499$ for tint is a lot of dough.

Nano my **** haha....

Get the ceramic tint.

Check the tint shops within 5 mi radius from the dealer. That's most likely where the dealer takes the car to. No dealer will ever do the job themselves. They just cash in on the difference.

I like the tint, however if I had seats like yours I would skip the tint. Very nice looking ride.

Perfect5storm is infamous around these parts
I had a separate install. My local Bmw dealer recommends someone. I have used him for multiple cars including my C4s. Any front window film is illegal in Florida. 3m and llumar have nano films which are barely tinted and are good for front windshield application. You can't see it but it really works. My dash(leather) was untouchable prior to it. Front winshield should run 100-150. Rest of the car can be tinted. Nano films do not cause any interference with electronics radar epass etc. Avoid regular tint on the front.

Thanks... I like showing off the seat backing and leaning towards not tinting my Porsche.

That's good to know about not interfering with my Valentine 1 which is mounted on the left side of my rear view mirror. I'm going to check out the different shades of Nano tints on Monday.

I'd tint it. Go with legal to not have issues. Get references and make sure they do it perfectly the first time before you pay. Good luck.

I would skip the tint unless the car is outside parked in the sun a lot.

I bet he gives the dealerships a discount and does it for for $125.
