Are you doing a lot of short trips? If so some car computers will adjust the service intervals.

Your car was probably sitting at the dealership for a while before it got bought.
I got that same message when I had my car for 3 months. Dealer reset it at no cost.

You've got the wife mod... Always telling you what you're doing weeks out...

Just take it to the dealer and tell them you already have one.

My car was 11 months old when I bought it CPO with 8700 miles on it...

When I bought it, it had the "service now" already displayed. Just needed an oil change is all.

When did you take ownership in relationship to the build date?

You could plug in your VIN on Suncoast VIN Decoder page and it'll tell you when your car was produced and a whole lot more.

The dealer 'should' have set the service clock right before delivery, if they changed the oil.

Otherwise, you may only have had it for 5 months, but the oil has been in the engine for 11 months, and in 28 days the year the oil has been in the engine, will be reached. So it will be time to replace the oil.

Remember the oil clock starts when the oil is put IN the engine, not when you take delivery.

Bingo. We have a winner. In my case it called for service at 11 months and 5000 miles. Service rep explained the above to me.

I went ahead and changed oil. $129 coupon for oil change. Better safe than sorry. Love this car but they had a silver turbo S just calling my name. Love to drive one just to feel the power. I can only imagine launch control on the turbo S. 0-60 in 2.8 - wow!!!

Confused

I just got home from a drive and was about to ask the same question. I bought mine cpo at the end of july with 20,700 miles on it. dealer did 20k service/oil change. I have 22700 on it and i got a service in 30 days indicator. I looked at the car fax and the car was on the lot no more than a month.....so im confused as to what this could be??? Thx

You need to re-read Minok's post about the service indicator. Dealer probably didn't reset the indicator when it performed the 20k service/oil change.

^ +1. I got an oil change earlier this year, and my indicator lit up a week later. Dealer just forgot to reset it. No biggy.
