NOT sure IF this was mentioned or not...BUT a 305 Hankook V12 and Nitto Invio tire fits about 1" wider over a Conti or Pirelli(p-zero nero)....even though they advertise the same 305 width!
YES,I seen it with my own eyes!

Also, our local supplier had LOTS of good things to say about the Hankook tires and he sells all of the above...

Had a flat today on the way home from a road trip. No Porsche dealer or tire shop (that could remove a low profile tire) within 100 miles on a Sunday. I had to have the car flatbedded to Sewickley, PA. The OE tires have 7600 miles on them. I thought about just replacing the rear since this was such an unexpected expense - there was a piece of metal in the inside sidewall of the right rear tire. But if the Hankooks are a deal, I will probably get all 4.
Any thoughts?

p.s. Porsche service was very patient and helpful. And the team at the National Tire and Battery in St. Clairesville, OH went above and beyond even thought they couldn't fix it.

First of all, you get what you pay for. That being said, I had the Hankooks on my Turbo since it was a high mileage daily driver (around 20K per year). I had them for about 8k miles and found them to be good tires. I was most concerned with road noise and didn't have much expectation for handling but they surprised me there. The initial turn-in was not as sharp, and the road feel was not as good, the ultimate grip not as high but the difference was not that great, maybe 5-10 percent. Considering they were nearly half the price, I was pleased.

If it was a just a low mileage, weekend car, I would have stayed with the PS2s.

My cousin has a shop the rears were kinda tough to put on because the valve wasent sitting right kept touching the rubber so it wasent filling up with air. Maybe it was us lol but idk. But for some strange reason the handling feels sloppy for instance when your driving on a straight road and you turn the steering left to right at lets say 50 60 mph the car feels like its all over the place. Rocks like a boat

Re: Hankooks. Maybe a little late in replying. Just put a set of 19" Hankooks for my 2008 Carrera C2. Had them one day and returned them to Discount Tire. The car was floating and unstable. Tire guys drove and agreed. Discount Tire took tires back in exchange for Bridgestones. I like them as much as replaced Michelins.

Did you get the RE050A's? That's what I've been running. Really can't complain about them.

You need to break them in and let them settle. The first 100 miles or so they felt wobbly but I guess after all the outside oils and stuff rubbed off the tire has been performing great.
