Hankook tires
Does anyone have experience with Hankook Ventus V12 tires? I'm looking for replacements and these are coming back at half the cost of others. I'm not sure if I'd be getting what I paid for given the significant difference in cost to the others.
If anyone can share their experiences, I'd appreciate it.

I just orderd a set of 4 for my C2S cant beat the price i payed 828 shipped to ny. 295/30/19 rear 235/35/19 fronts beats Pzero just for the rears they wanted 850 and IMO they suck. I will install the hankooks this weekend will let you know.
Thanks...yes, please let me know. I'm in NY as well and if they're at least close in performance to the Pzero's or Michelins, it'll be a steal at that price.
Ya i wouldnt see why they wouldnt perform well. Honestly with the Pzero i felt very unsafe nailing turns at high speed. Felt very sloppy. There are a few threads about these tires just click hankook on the search engine.
Last question - given that I don't drive much in the winter (only when there is not snow on the road), should I wait til Spring to replace, or try to take advantage of the prices today? Thoughts?
I would wait i guess till spring im asuming the tires you have on now are still decent. Im changing mine cause the inner sidewall had a slash like a half moon. And the rears are pretty bald but if it wasent for the slash i would have waited till spring.
Btw i doubt the price would go up on those tires in the spring

i just installed them on my 997 turbo and at first they are not as stable because of the the oils and tread being so fresh. but after 100 miles these tires are amazing! way better then my oem pirellis and they make driving my car fun again. The grip is fantastic and the car actually feels quicker. Get them you wont regret it. my friends made fun of them but honestly dont worry about not having the name brand top of the line tires. i will buy these again.

I doubt it is a fair fight comparing new tires to old. Let's see how the less expensive tires are doing in 10K miles. However, having said that, I replaced the original equipment Goodyear Runflats on an '06 Vette after 18K miles because they rode like crap and were as noisy as hell. I went the "cheap" route and bought Firestone Runflats (less than $1K for a complete set delivered). At the end of 53K miles the Firestones were near the end of their useful lifespan but still handled great and were still acceptably quiet to boot. So, hope the Hankooks work out for you.
This tire has been debated on several threads for well over a year. Probably the best info is at tire rack rather than some of the subjective stuff I've read here.
I was going to order them for my C2S and at the last moment decided on the Continental DW; a few more bucks but relying on tirerack's comparison evaluation I switched ( Hankooks rated very well also ).
Tires come with a one (1 ) year warranty, so I'd wait until you got your car out of Winter storage - mine is stored for 4 months in the Summer, which is why I'm getting mine now even though the rears were down to slicks last May.

Just ordered these tires for myself. FYI, there is apparently a shortage of raw rubber supplies worldwide that are driving up tire prices. If you google most tire makers are increasing their prices. Hankook claims that their tires will go up in price something like 3-6% when November hits so I thought it best to order now.
I put them on my Cayman over the summer. Drove out to Ohio for the ALMS race this year (about 1000 miles that weekend) and did an autocross with the local PCA. The first thing I noticed is they seem to have much less road noise than the PS2's that were originally on my car. Grip is about the same as the PS2's (I didn't notice a difference to be honest) and I actually turned a better time in the autocross this year vs. last.
Today I drove about 200 miles on the highway in the rain @ around 75 mph and did not have any issues with hydroplaning. Felt very stable at speed. I currently have about 5000 miles on them and they seem to be wearing just fine.
I would recommend giving them a shot. What do you have to lose? You can always try em out for a season and if they are not your cup of tea, then go back to the OEM tires.

Just adding more of what has already been said, really. Definitely a value, all things considered, without feeling like a cheap tire. I've 3 track days on them and 6k miles and so far so good. Initially, I was having a hard time getting used to the difference in steering response from my previous Michelin PS2's. The Hankook's felt soft and dull but I really think that was the difference between older (less tread) tires and newer (full tread depth) tires. They are not any slower on track, they are quieter for commuting... I mean, I'm really surprised by them and if I can have them at half the cost... yes, please.
