997.2 Front Splitter/Spoiler Options

I've got a voicemail and email into Rhonda at FVD...

I'd like this one:

I think this is for a stock 997.2 base Carrera... at least it looks like my 2009 OEM bumper.

I've been searching for the past hour on google... I found another black plastic one on the net specifically for an OEM 997.2 earlier this morning on my work computer, but I can't find it again

RoTech has a CF one for $799...

Nice thing about having a black car, I'm hoping a Plain-Jane matte black plastic one I might be able to find for about $300 bucks.... no painting necessary.

Do any of you have options for a front splitter/lip/spoiler for a stock 997.2 C2?

In my haste to post pics of other GT3 style splitters in the other thread... they're just that, for GT3 or Aero front bumpers...

Seems like parts for the 997.2 are far and few...

I'd appreciate any links you guys might have...

Thanks,
Mark

EVS Motors has one for $499...

But this would also require painting...

I could have sworn I saw one like FVD's for less than $200 bucks this morning... wish I would have book marked that page!

Mark,

I think GT3 Tek was looking at making one a few months back - I am still awaiting an answer on that one...

Can you PM me the link/price to the FVD, I can't find it on their site...

Thanks,

T.

T,

I couldn't find it on FVD's website either.... that's why I messaged Rhonda.

She posted that photo here on the forum a while back ago... I found that picture doing a google search for 997.2 splitter/lip/spoiler (something like that) and found a link to a thread here with that pic.

That may have been the splitter I found earlier yesterday morning... IIRC, it was only like $179 bucks (I think, I know I found one like that for less than $200 bucks... no joke).

The cheaper the better IMHO. With the speed bumps we have here, you have to consider these lips disposable. Urethane is somewhat flexible and probably more durable than CF.

There is no question that the Werks1 lip is a piece of art but it would last about 4 seconds around here... And I can't afford a four digit monthly "subscription"...

h1sp,

Here's the sharkwerks one:

And here's the TechArt Type 1

I'm right there with T, Front splitters need to be a disposable piece...

h1sp, Just looked at that site... that's for a 2005-2008 997... I don't know if its interchangeable with a 997.2 of 2009 or later?

This is a lip for SC front bumper! Anyone knows that will fit with the OEM 997.2 front bumper???

No, it requires the front bumper as well, so it gets too expensive...

Lee.. I agree about painting, I'm not too concerned about painting as I have a black 2009 C2. If I can find a bumper in flat matte black, that's just fine with me.. for a front splitter, I can have it locally painted at the auto collision place down the road very cheap (maybe like $100 bucks)... for such a small piece of "trim", paint's not that important to me.

I hate to sound cheap, but I even thought about painting it flat black myself...

For larger surfaces, I do use a quality paint shop like when they sprayed my hood and bumper again, and when they do my GT3 wing

I was wrong on the $499 price... I think on their site, its something like $649.

Don't know about fitment though... looks like a 997.2 bumper to me...

Also, as for the FVD bumper, that'd be my first pic... but Rhonda told me that the reason it's not on their website is because they're not importing them anymore from Germany... however, she does have one in stock. But, it was almost a thousand dollars. For that kind of scratch, I'm thinking of going with the RoTech CF splitter for a couple hundred bucks less.

Man, I don't know what I'm missing here... I know R&D costs money, bur really? This is a trim piece (functional though, I'll give them that)... but still, its just trim... I don't see why they cost $1000-1400 or more for a small piece of trim.??? Sometimes I feel like these companies are raping us just because we're P-Car owners and they think "if they can afford the car, they can afford to pay x amount of dollars for this piece"... back when I was heavily considering buying a Murcielago (which I may still do), some guy made a CF top for their roadster... he wants $18,000 bucks for it! Really? Open clean air is good for me at that price, even if its raining! hahaha.
