997.2 IPD Plenum Install....

it would be nice if they paid for the dyno, the install AND gave you a discount on the product that was too good to pass up. It would be a good "loss-leader" that would probably progress to a "group buy" and pay for itself.
Well, that is, if the product performs..........

Well, let's hope they don't declare victory with a 5 hp and a couple of ft/lbs of torque gain. Changes of this caliber should produce 10-20 HP and a credible increase in TQ. Standing by to be part of the group buy if it pans out.

If its anything like the Gen 1 Plenum it will be worth it. Im thinking it MIGHT be better due to the DFI engine. Maybe im wrong though, maybe the DFI will hinder it. Im sure well see soon. But yes if its at least as good as the .1 Group Buy for sure

Greetings again,
We have found a few willing candidates who were eager to accept the offer but their cars already had some after-market mods installed and we are looking for a “bone stock” car. Of course our test vehicle stills needs to be a manual. We will probably extend the offer to the other volunteers who have the slightly modded DFI’s but not until we manage to complete our stock tests.
All that being said, Our offer was for a free install ($150-$200 value), Free dyno test ($250 value) and no sales tax ($95 value). But in an effort to sweeten the deal we’ll make the price on the DFI plenum $695 ($400 value).
I will give Terrence first right of refusal since he was one of the first volunteers and seems to be the most enthusiastic. I know he wanted a deeper deal than this but this is our best offer and we should have a line around the block with this pricing.
Also we are now looking for 2 997.2 DFI Carreras, a 3.6L non “S” as well as a 3.8L “S”. So please contact us if you are serious about our offer. We would like to conduct these test sessions this week.
Thanks again for all the continued support and consideration. We look forward to delivering these test results to the entire 6 Speed community asap.
Cheers Again,
IPD Greg

The plenum was the last mod I installed on my car so it was easy to tell what kind of performance it added to my car. I am very happy with the results. I don't need a dyno to tell me what I already feel when I slam on the throttle. The car feels incredible and that is not an exaggeration. Dyno information can always be skewed one way or the other. The true test of performance is to take your car to the track and time yourself on a 1/4 mile run to see if there was a change in your straight line acceleration.

Unfortunately, the PDK isn't happy when the front wheels aren't spinning and the transmission will pop out of gear when it thinks the front wheels are locked up. This will usually cause the wheel sensors to throw a CEL. We've have figured out a way around the system but prefer to keep all of our preliminary testing 100% legitimate and without any variables.

IPD DFI Dyno Test Results
Well the test results are in and the findings came back positive. This isn’t the news you want to hear from your doctor but it’s great when evaluating performance parts.
All kidding aside, the dyno test session went very well considering we’re talking about the always challenging DFI engine. Gains were realized throughout both power and torque curves from launch to redline.
This particular 997.2 “S” laid down a very high baseline of 335 WHP which is the highest we’ve seen thus far. Our first test car base lined at 327 WHP.
This is the second of 2 tests performed on a bone stock 997.2 Carrera S car. IPD would like to extend a special thanks to Terrence and Arling at Rennspec for bringing down the car for the dyno test.
We will be dyno testing a 997.2 with an after-market exhaust on Friday so stay tuned for more dyno test results. Thanks again to everybody for all the continued interest and enthusiasm regarding the IPD Plenums.
Cheers,
Greg
